CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: THE LANGUAGE BARRIER REINSTATED

[Today, something somewhere went wrong. On the evening on the 15th, any bilingual (or otherwise) knowledge granted by the Campus has simply...disappeared. At least for anybody walking by the North Wing.]

[Translation: Well...this is going to put a damper on our studies, now isn't it?]

((ooc: So! For the next 5 days (the 15th~20th), your character officially only knows their native tongue. Aka, whatever language they primarily grew up with. They can no longer read, speak, or understand any other language but.

For fun you can even use Google Translate to show what your character is speaking at a glance! Don't worry, we all know it's probably gibberish :P

If you go the Google route, please be sure to put a translation at the bottom. If not, then please take care to specify what language your character is speaking in at the start of every thread.

[Catching it with one hand, he throws the other one over. It's a lot harder to do it while catching and the throw is a little sloppier, to his irritation, but he moves right into it.]

[He could never get Chihaya or Kohlrain to do something like this. Maybe Surito, but she'd probably get bored easily...]

[He can guess what the guy's saying from the tone, and grins. Bakura has a lot of patience, and games, even physical ones, are always fun. Though he's more for the type of game where he has control over other people, he's still a player at heart. Competitive games are his thing and he's far more physical than Ryou is.]

Wrong hand. He ends up dropping it and has to fumble to grab it again. Damn... his fingers on that hand aren't working properly. He can't bend them all the way again. How annoying. He'll focus on the other hand more, then.]

[Tenar frowns as the ball's dropped, catching his to stop the game for a moment and give Bakura a confused -- and somewhat concerned -- look.]

You okay?

... [He hesitates, then frowns, showing him his left hand. His fingers aren't bending all the way - or as quickly as they should be. The reason why is obvious just to look at them; the charred white of the skin where the burns had penetrated down to the nerves.]

It's nothing.

[Oh... oh wow. Those burns look really bad, and Tenar's eyes widen a little at seeing them on a guy he'd just been thinking of as some random civilian type person.

But even if he's not really all that familiar with actual out-and-out scarring fire burns, he can tell it's already healed up a lot. That must be old...]

Uh... sorry. Should I slow down?

[Wow, the kid looks shocked. Guess he hasn't seen burns from the flames of a God before. At the question he shrugs, and just goes back to juggling. Like hell he knows what was asked.]

[Guess not. Tenar shrugs too, then starts juggling again, though he's going noticeably slower anyway. Still quick enough that Bakura probably can't match it, but he doesn't want to end up hitting that hand too hard again.]

[He may not be able to match it, but he's damn well going to try. At least until he tires. And tire he does, eventually, needing to take a break. Sitting back down, he throws his head back and laughs a little, looking entertained.]

H-hahaha! That was fun!

[Tenar grabs both the balls when Bakura finally stops, sitting down in front of him and grinning too.]

[Even if that laugh still kinda gives him chills. He glances at the balls after a moment, then tosses them towards the door he left open, as if trying to send them down the staircase.

He can't be assed to go put them away right now.]

[Bakura snickers at that. Eh, like he cares if someone falls over them. It won't be him.]

Heheheh. Good move.

[Stretching, he relaxes. That was actually a pretty good workout for his arms. And with the sun actually shining, he feels pretty good right now.]

[He mimics the stretching, then flops backwards to rest on the roof, looking up at the sky. It's weird... it's not like it's anything new he's doing now, but even without any differences he can point out, this place doesn't feel like home at all.

It's not a bad place -- there's a lot of forest and open spots to look around in, so he feels pretty comfortable in it. But it's almost like the island has this... really lonely feel to it.]

I miss everyone else.

... [He didn't miss the sorrowful note that was in the boy's voice. Whatever he's talking about is probably something to do with this place. Bad memories, perhaps? Or just homesickness? Who knows.

...who cares? He at least makes his tone friendly, if not his words.]

[After a moment or two of thought, he shifts so he's resting on his stomach, head on his arms and looking at Bakura with a fairly serious expression.

He knows he can't be understood... and he knows he can't understand. But it's nice to have someone to talk to, since his roommate seemed to have vanished.]

Kai wasn't around last night. I looked around, but I don't know this place really well, so I guess he was hiding.

Hoh...? [He knows one word out of that. Then this guy knows Kai? Interesting. That's even more reason to be nice to him.]

I wonder what you and Kai's relationship is...

[He picked up that note in Bakura's voice, tilting his head a little and watching him. He doesn't think they're friends, from the way it was said... but now he's curious.]

[He shrugs again, looking blank.]

[Tenar sits up, shadow boxing a little before laying back down.]

[Sigh. Yes, Tenar, they fight. It'll do. He nods carelessly.]

[He nods back too, closing his eyes now that that's answered.]

I wonder if you fight 'cause you're friends, or because you're enemies.
