Unhelpful nurse aside, did they (whoever "they" was; someone or a group of someones with enough nerve to line a bank vault) honestly think he would accept news about being kidnapped simply because it was cutely drawn on a whiteboard? In their deluded dreams.

He's going to explore alright, but not because he's "sad"--because he is livid and wants to find a way out as soon as possible. He has much more important things to be doing than milling about some school.

So he's striding through the hallways, hands clasped behind his back, looking for anything at all that might prove out of the ordinary or useful. Like, say, a person eventually coming into his sights.]

Karasu makes an "Ah" noise, smiling a little gently.]

Yes. Everyone here but for the nurse, lunch lady, and woman over the intercom has, actually.

Something like that. She's mostly just annoying and here to needle us, without giving anything actual useful. If you try to ask her anything, she just talks around in circles, and according to her, our reason for being here is just "to learn." She never appears, either. Just talks over that intercom, thus the name.

Nobody's really found out anything, and besides those three, the only people here are ones taken from their homes in other worlds.

So she kidnaps us only to make fun from afar? H'm. A school only in name, then. [Looking none too pleased over here. He does not fancy the idea of being some amusing pet in a cage.]

I mean exactly what it sounds like. Different worlds, different dimensions. There's people here from worlds that are built like ancient times from all kinds of cultures, people from drastically different versions of present day, and people from worlds that have no magic, have no technology, or -- on the other side of the coin -- have both.

Sorry. I know it's bad news. But they haven't told us much at all. All the lady over the intercom says is that we're here to learn. She tests us sometimes by making weird things happen, but I don't know what she hopes to find out.
