CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: SPRING FEVER

[Today, the lovely denizens of the Campus will wake up to a beautiful spring morning. Birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and pollen is in there. But this isn't just any pollen, the kind that afflicts the allergy prone to months of watery eyes and sneezing, oh no, this pollen is far more potent.

This morning, you will wake up with exactly one menial illness. It won't kill you, it won't even really hurt you, but it will be a constant annoyance to you for the next week. Sicknesses range from sneezes and rashes to spontaneous floral growth out of the forehead region. Really, anything goes.]

((ooc: okay, so, feel free to give your characters whatever silly or petty illness you want! This event ends on the 25th. Our cooperative event has been postponed due to a lack of feedback/interest--since it's an event that requires at least a small group of people to be active in.))

Uhm. It's pretty hard to trace it back... But I think it's Egyptian in origin. I guess I'm a bit of a mixed breed.

Uhm... I'm not exactly sure. It's either eight or nine months now.

[He sounds a little uncertain. It might be as many as ten months. But he doesn't think it's that long.]

[While he's not about to go a shade of pale to put Ryou's hair to shame, that news still seems to alarm him.]

Nine months?

[He knows this place freezes time, so it's not like he's going to be stuck here while another war rages on at home. But that doesn't make the news feel much better.

Sure, this is a school, and it's very low that it's going to be as blood-drenched as his home is. But it's a small place, very closed off. He doesn't even know if being here will be a respite from the wars; this Voice sure wasn't someone who seemed to value peace for everyone.

It would be nice if it could be that way. But even if it was...

The Hunters, who were backing him up always. The friends he made while off-duty, human and Reploid both. And especially... Zero.

Nine months isn't long in his life of a hundred years, but the idea of not seeing them for that long -- or longer -- is still not one that he's pleased with.]

Sorry... I don't really have any good news for you on that front. Some people don't stay long, but I know at least one who'd already been here for three months when I met him, and he's still here now.

[Ryou sighs, looking downcast. He wishes he had some good news to give.]

He reaches over, clasping a hand warmly on Ryou's shoulder.]

It's all right. I've lived for about a hundred years now. A few here isn't going to hurt me, especially since I don't have to worry about my home.

I'll just miss the friends I left behind, that's all.

E-eh...? [Woah. That's right... this guy is a robot. It's hard to remember when he acts so normal. He manages a little bit of a smile for him, though.]

That's still sad, though. I hope you get to go back to them soon.

I know... but at least I know they'll always be waiting for me. If time did still pass there, then they'd be even more intent on making sure they kept things under control so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

I don't think I can relax here, not with the way I came or that Voice, but... at least it's a weight off me. Especially with kind people like you here.

I know that, when given a stranger who didn't speak your language and was confused, you went and got a dictionary, then painstakingly listened to pick out the right words.

Most people here are pretty nice, though. I've only really run into one or two that wouldn't stop to help.

Just be cautious around Egyptians... Both of the ones I know here are kind of temperamental, and one of them might try to stab you.

Sorry. It's a necessary warning. I know robots don't need to worry about stabbing so much, but it might still mess up your wiring.

It depends on the blade they're using. If it's not very good, then even without my armor it might just break, but there's a chance that it can pierce if I'm not in my armor.

So I appreciate the warning.

That's good to know! But I doubt you'll have much trouble. Both of them keep to themselves quite a bit.
