PERMANENT EVENT: A WHOLE NEW FRONTIER
[Surely it was too early for another announcement, right...? But then there it is, that tell-tale electronic feedback screeching through the halls before a mature female voice resonates through it.]
The doors are unlocked.
[That's all she says. Those who are curious might test the front doors...and they'll find that they open not to the seemingly civilized outskirts of town as the now vanished view from the roof may have made you think, but to the horizon. Likewise that barrier and its lies blocking anybody's escape via the roof or sky has collapsed, leaving the air a tad bit...more temperamental. You see, there was weather now.
Out from the front doors of the Campus can be see an expanse of land and then the sea. Anybody who ventures out further will find that they're still trapped, only in a bigger cage. This new cage is now five miles across the diameter at its longest point. The island itself is about as varied as it comes: covered jungles, a cave system, a single stream leading up to a freshwater lake, and a lone mountain near the center. One part near the front of the school is home to a sometimes-pleasant sandy shore ripe for the hunting sea life. Everywhere else is a perilous cliff fall into the sea.
Anybody who tries to escape via the sea will find the riptide tearing them back to a cave near the shore.]
((This event is a permanent setting expansion, you can read more about it here as well as in the island setting page near the bottom here. Have fun, if you have any questions simply address them to the OOC post, plurk, or AIM if applicable, and please don't forget to tag your series!))

no subject
[He gestures toward the tunnel ahead.]
You want keep going? I could use an extra set of eyes down here.
no subject
[He motions forward.]
Go on ahead, I'll be behind you with the flashlight!
no subject
[He takes the lead, heading down a path that leads off to the right and down. It's oddly dry and warm, for a cave.]
What's with the suit, by the way?
no subject
[He follows right behind him.]
Ah, comes with the job. Can't be looking sloppy as a special agent now, can I?
[He chuckles.]
Though I suppose here it doesn't matter as much.
no subject
"Special agent?" Are you with the CIA?
[All warmth has evaporated from his voice, replaced with cold aggression. Of course a single CIA agent poses no real threat to him...but what if he has some way of calling for backup? One message, that's all it would take to bring the military down on this place.]
no subject
[He pauses. He can detect tension in the air.]
Is everything alright?
[He doesn't want to resort to violence, but that didn't mean Cooper wasn't willing to defend himself. The man didn't look familiar but if he was a hostile criminal he'd do his best to stop him.]
no subject
[Although it's barely perceptible, Alex does relax a little. FBI...they weren't assigned to him. Hell, they wouldn't be equipped or trained to deal with him even if they had been. Still, the man is a federal agent, and that alone is more than enough to be wary of him.]
...Yeah. Everything is just fine.
[His voice clearly indicates that everything is far from "fine."]
Look, let's just keep going, alright? I want to know what's down here.
no subject
Alright, lets go on then.
[He continued forward, being wary of the man the entire time.]
no subject
Eventually, it starts to get unusually warm. He can hear something down there, in the darkness. Something fluttering just around a blind corner. Alex tenses a little, unsure if it's just a bunch of animals or something to actually worry about.]
