PERMANENT EVENT: A WHOLE NEW FRONTIER
[Surely it was too early for another announcement, right...? But then there it is, that tell-tale electronic feedback screeching through the halls before a mature female voice resonates through it.]
The doors are unlocked.
[That's all she says. Those who are curious might test the front doors...and they'll find that they open not to the seemingly civilized outskirts of town as the now vanished view from the roof may have made you think, but to the horizon. Likewise that barrier and its lies blocking anybody's escape via the roof or sky has collapsed, leaving the air a tad bit...more temperamental. You see, there was weather now.
Out from the front doors of the Campus can be see an expanse of land and then the sea. Anybody who ventures out further will find that they're still trapped, only in a bigger cage. This new cage is now five miles across the diameter at its longest point. The island itself is about as varied as it comes: covered jungles, a cave system, a single stream leading up to a freshwater lake, and a lone mountain near the center. One part near the front of the school is home to a sometimes-pleasant sandy shore ripe for the hunting sea life. Everywhere else is a perilous cliff fall into the sea.
Anybody who tries to escape via the sea will find the riptide tearing them back to a cave near the shore.]
((This event is a permanent setting expansion, you can read more about it here as well as in the island setting page near the bottom here. Have fun, if you have any questions simply address them to the OOC post, plurk, or AIM if applicable, and please don't forget to tag your series!))

As soon as he gets out of here and home, he plans to send some helicopters back to rescue the rest of these fools, but for now all that concerns him is getting back to his younger brother and KaibaCorp.]

Still, when the intercom announces their freedom, the techrat is curious. There aren't that many options available to him here so he may as well entertain himself with what they've been given. Even if he hates it.
When Matt steps outside, he's quick to shield his eyes with a hiss. They're used to staring at screens - screens at nightfall. This whole... doing things during the day spiel, while not entirely new, takes some adjusting. And speaking of adjusting, his eyes come into focus on one hell of a jet. Don't get him wrong, he likes the design (it's something he wouldn't mind using as an avatar) but is it really all that practical?]
That can't be aerodynamic.
no subject
When he got out of here, he'd be sure to send a carrier back to retrieve his jet.]
Considering it flew me here, I'd have to argue otherwise.

[When Bakura speaks, he glances back, but continues what he's doing. The duel-disk was still on his arm, for lack of anywhere else to put it.]
I'm not going to try. I'm going to succeed.

He can be found by the sandy shore, using his sword to chop down branches from nearby trees and throwing them into a pile on the side. Yes, he was preparing for his grand escape. All he needed to do was make a raft and find a way to get it out into the ocean safely.
At least, that's what he thinks.]
no subject
What are you doing?
no subject
Ah, I was just gathering wood for a raft. [He glances down at the pile.] I think I can manage a decent enough one.

"Kai, be careful!"
"I am, quit worrying!"
Kai leaned out from his perch on the rock, trying to keep his balance and steady the long stick he held in his hand. This wasn't so hard, he could fish this way. 'Jem was still on the stream bank, half worrying over him and half teasing him.
"You're doing it wrong! You have to wait until the fish come closer or you'll miss!"
He could hear the laughter in her voice, and he turned a bit to stick his tongue out at her. The laughter spilled out, and Kai grinned. It was always good to hear her laugh, especially since she'd been so quiet the last few days. He saw a fish swimming by out of the corner of his eye and spun around to stab at it-
And fell in. 'Jem collapsed to her knees, giggling.
"Told you!"
He sighed and shook his head before dropping the branch to the sand and yanking off his socks and sneakers. Okay, he could try again. Maybe he'd even get good at it. Quickly rolling up the cuffs of his jeans, Kai grabbed the branch and stalked off into the water. Here fishy fishy.
He wasn't very far in before he stopped, however, and just stood there, letting the waves lap at his ankles. Why couldn't he just be home? Really home, with his parents and he'd even take 'Jem along and things could just be-
"Ah, the hell with it." He muttered, and started looking for the fish again.

[Seemingly out of nowhere, Tajima suddenly runs past the other boy into the ocean; splashing down into the water with a loud flop. He surfaces soon after; shirtless as he stands in the waist-high water with a giant, satisfied grin.]
MAN that feels good!
[Oh- were you about to catch some fish? Because yeah they've probably been scared off at this point.]

Now he could have gone back out, but he was so tired, hot, and hungry from hours of walking that he simply submitted and went back inside to try again another day.
So, Kaiba headed back to the room he was forced to share, making a beeline for the bathroom where he closed and locked the door. There he sat by the edge of the tub, his hands on the rim as he let the cold water of the faucet rush over his head. It felt amazing compared to the heat he'd suffered all day, but it did nothing to quell the anger in his heart.
Today, he had failed at what he set out to do, and worse than that he'd been made a fool of. It reminded him all too much of Death-T.]

As it was, he'd discovered there was in fact fresh meats and vegetables, and when not fouled by unskillful hands, could be used to create dishes that were quite savory indeed. He was going for a choice steak (yeah, don't ask how he managed to get his hands on that!) and grilled vegetable sides this time, and doing quite well at it too. Surprisingly he's adapted fairly well since being here, and it wasn't as though he didn't know how to cook before...Just that he never had time and his servants would usually do it for him. Now he had plenty of it.
Pegasus noted too, out of the corner of his one good eye that Kaiba was moving past, looking rather tired...Now what could that be about? He wouldn't have to wonder too long hopefully. Once Kaiba got out of the shower everything was ready, with Pegasus seated sipping at a glass of what looked to be wine.]
no subject
Kaiba decided to take a shower, standing under the cold faucet and letting the water drench him as he leered a hole into the wall. Whoever did this, and whoever brought him here, would pay dearly.]
[Once he'd properly cooled off and cleaned, Kaiba steps out and dries himself, pausing in silent shock at the realizing he hadn't brought a change of clothes into the bathroom. It would ruin the whole point of showering if he changed back into his old clothes, so...]
[A few minutes later, Kaiba stepped out in comfortable silk button-down pajamas, his hair still damp and clinging to his face. He'd managed to find them in a drawer in the bathroom. It was late in the day anyway, and at the very least they were tasteful.]
... [He smelled food, and his eyes moved towards the kitchen to spot Pegasus sitting at the table.]

So here's where you're hiding.
[Bakura himself had changed his clothes by now in favour of a thin shirt, nice trousers and a gloriously comfortable black trenchcoat that seemed very familiar. He felt more at home than he had in a while, with that on.]
no subject
When he hears Bakura he shifts his gaze to him, noticing the difference in his eyes and simply how he held himself.]
What do you want? I'm busy. [Busy washing his clothes by sitting and doing nothing.]

[He doesn't even try to hide the sarcasm, crossing over to hop up onto one of the machines, sitting there and watching him.]
Besides, time passes faster when you're doing things, right?

Might as well intro her here \o/
Helloo...? Nicole, can you hear me?
[She had just been on a boat making her way to an island before coming here, yes- but has she really arrived already...? Where is everyone else? Usually there are several people present to greet you when you're arriving at one of these more elaborate fighting tournaments, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. And now she can't seem to get any reception either! Stupid T-mobile.]
[To make matters worse, these heels are really becoming a pain. Not exactly the best footware choice when it comes to traveling across the sand. Bending over, she raises her leg a bit to undo the clasp of her open-toe stiletto heels. Luna would much rather walk barefoot than continue awkwardly venturing on like this.]

The first thing Roy did when he heard that the front doors were open was immediately rush outside. He hadn't been expecting to see sand and forest. He figured this was it -- he could find his way back. He was wrong, of course, so he only ended up wandering about the place.
He may not have found an exit, but a busty older woman is the next best thing. Of course, when he approached he still did so cautiously. You never knew who you'd run into around this place, much like the wasteland.
His brows raise every so slightly when she bends over. Roy will admire the view for a moment before actually saying something.]
Ya lost, beautiful?
