Please don't bite the newbie!
Just a little to the left and open! [Sibyll announces triumphantly, standing up and pushing the door open to what should have been an unexplored ruin. Except it's not. Clearly confused, she takes a few steps into the bizarrely green courtyard. Pulling out a handgun, she looks around, clearly bewildered. Behind her, the door creaks shut and vanishes into the wall.]
Wait, no! [A little panicked, she presses her hand up against where the door used to be, tapping it lightly in an attempt to hear a hollow 'thump' that may indicate a hidden door. Not that there's any to be found.]
...Well, damn.

[He leans back in the chair, watching her with just as much of a wary look. Of course Ryou would get into this with a complete stranger.]
If it matters, I don't have a name. It was erased from history... and my memories.
But you're wrong, 'Sibyll'. I'm not 'trapped'. I'm 'sealed'. There's a difference.
no subject
How? Why?
[She's still fairly certain he's just a split personality, but that's no reason not to try and get more information.]
no subject
[He won't admit that he doesn't know the details. Most of it's educated guesswork tied back to the tablet at Kul Elna and the situation in general.]
I've spent the last three thousand years sealed in the Millennium Ring as a result. Transferring from host to host in search of the 'keys' to that power.
Hehehe. If you don't believe me, you could always try putting the Ring on for yourself. Though if it doesn't think you're worthy, the price might be high.
[It might even be death.]
no subject
[She's still really not sure how all of this works, but she's rather missing the much nicer Ryou.]
What made the kid 'worthy' of having you inflicted on him?
no subject
[He shakes his head at that question. These people... Well, he doesn't intend to be out here long, at any rate. He mostly came out as a warning. Just in case.]
My 'landlord' and I don't exactly see eye to eye, but this body is one I feel comfortable in. Since he didn't die from the Ring's defenses against weaker hosts, I decided to keep him. He's troublesome, but he's a good host. And a good cover, when he isn't revealing my existence out of a paranoid fear that I'm going to murder the next person he meets.
Besides... thanks to him, I found what I was looking for all these years.
no subject
[She taps the ring yet again. It certainly seems solid enough that she could yank it off.]
Murder? [A smirk crosses her lips.] You do realize you're in the body of a pre-teen, right?
no subject
Though you're right that this body is young, you're wrong to underestimate it. A woman your age should know that children are often chosen as soldiers due to their enemies' refusal to see them as threats. Even if Ryou is weak... I'm not.
As for the Ring...
[The prongs move suddenly, embedding themselves in Ryou's lower chest through his shirt.]
GYAHAHAHAHA! Go ahead and try! Even if you manage to pull it out of his body... you can take it a million miles away. It'll never be enough!
[With an eerie laugh, he relinquished the body, leaving Ryou doubled over with pain from where the Ring's prongs were still buried.]
no subject
[Sibyll's up, out of her chair and at the boy's side. But she's also on guard in case his alter is pulling some sort of trick. She didn't have a chance to mention that while he was right, she also happened to be loosely allied with a group that employed similar tactics.]
no subject
I'm alright... I've had this happen before. It used to happen any time I thought of taking it off.
It just hurts. That's all.
[He's tense from the pain, and a little pale, but seems otherwise alright.]
Sorry... I couldn't hold him back.
no subject
[She'll refrain from asking about shooting the creepy thing for now.]
Can... can you pull it out? I can at least help bandage you up.
no subject
[That really depends on the Ring, but to his relief, the prongs slide out easily this time - almost on their own. Like it was making a statement rather than a serious attempt to cling on. He breathes a sigh of relief once it's out, looking away from the blood-soaked metal.]
He wouldn't do anything to kill me.
[Or at least his body, but he's not specifying.]
no subject
Were you... here while he was out, or does he shove you into some corner of your mind?
no subject
[Wording, Ryou. You need to work on that.]
He used to put people into comas a lot, so I had to keep transferring school because I had a bad reputation for it. But once I got to Domino, he stopped doing that.
(*snickers*)
[She's clearly been underestimating the evil little bauble. That thing definitely needs to be riddled with holes. Possibly nuked.]
no subject
[Not mentioning the soul-theft part. It's less complicated this way.]
no subject
[Her tone was dry, but is now going back to gentle sympathy. It wasn't hard to feel bad for him, even if she still didn't entirely understand the hows and whys.
But you say he's stopped doing that? Have you blacked out much since you got here?
[Having some idea of how often the little monster was out and about would give her a good idea of how much to keep up her guard around the kid.]
no subject
He stopped putting people into comas after I met the holder of one of the other items. Though I started blacking out more around then, I wasn't hearing of any more people being put into comas.
[Other than him, he hadn't heard of anyone else being hurt.]
Thinking about it, it's probably good that I'm here, for 'his' sake.
no subject
[She sighs and takes another gulp of water. 300 years in the past and evil jewelry? This all felt too real for her to have just hit her head on something and be dreaming up.]
no subject
[Fumbling in his pocket, he finds the cold hardness of the Millennium Eye and draws it out, holding it out for her to see.]
My other... might have killed someone for this.
no subject
After quietly thinking for a minute or two, she reaches out to gently place a hand on Ryou's cheek.]
If he did, there isn't anything you can do about it. And I can take care of myself, so don't worry about that. Appreciate the warning, though.
no subject
He really did not want to die.]
Thank you! That really reassures me. But this isn't a really good introduction to this place is it? Sorry, sorry.
no subject
What else is there? Since you said 'school', I'm guessing a lot of empty classrooms.
no subject
[He's rather curious, if not judgemental at all. After all, he collects Monster World figures; he'd be in a pretty poor position to judge.]
Well, there's the usual; art room, music room, infirmary, library, pool... [Ticking them off on his fingers as he goes.] I'd suggest getting your food from the home economics room and making it yourself, rather than going to the cafeteria. I haven't been to the northern wing yet, but it's probably just more classrooms.
There's dormitories on each side of the building, but they're shared, so it really depends how much you're willing to trust strangers. I guess it must have been a boarding school at some point, but the location's a little odd. Schools aren't usually set up on secluded islands, especially not surrounded by jungles. It was probably a very exclusive place, if it was ever functional.
no subject
What's wrong with the cafeteria? [In her mind, nothing can be as bad as the 200-year-old Pre-War packaged stuff. But she could be wrong.]
And sharing rooms? Doesn't quite suite me. I don't suppose there are any empty rooms, are there?
no subject
[In the worst way. He hasn't even tasted it; he just didn't have the nerve to eat something like that.]
I'm not sure... But if worst comes to worse, you could probably take over one of the classrooms.
