CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK

[Hopefully everybody likes waking up outside.

Because as it were, in the middle of the night when everybody had been asleep or lulled into a sudden one by the sheer weight of the air around them...the Campus disappeared in its entirety. Left behind was only the cool surface of the concrete foundation.

For now it seems the residents were left to fend for themselves in the wilderness of the island. Not even the voice from over the intercom would comfort them.]

((ooc: the school has disappeared, along with all the NPCs and everything that was inside! no opt-out areas this time around. The temperature is cool during the day, and colder at night.

The event will last until October 20th, and I'll post a closer to signify it. Everything will be returned to its rightful place then.))

[There's a snrk at that, Judai turning over on his stomach and curling back up. Winged Kuriboh gives Bakura the equal of a confused shrug, looking down and back to the spirit. If you think you can do better, then by all means...]

Oh for the love of... [He leans over, pressing the ice-cold metal of the Ring to Judai's skin, and yells in his ear.]

HEY, JUDAI, IT'S TIME TO DUEL!

[AUGHSD LOUD LOUD LOUD. Judai immediately shoots up, looking around, blinking a bit as his brain tries to wake up too.

...yaaaaawn.]

G'mornin', Bakura.

[fluffydeathdealer]

You sleep like the dead...

[He flops down to sit cross-legged on the ground beside him.]

Notice anything different?

Huh?

[He glances around, blinking a bit more. ....Gah!]

The whole building's gone!

[fluffydeathdealer]

Yeah. Vanished in the night... along with everything in it that wasn't alive.

[Maybe the powers this guy has can be of use... probably not, but...]

Does anything feel odd to you?

[Sorry, Bakura, he centered on that "everything in it".]

No way! My deck and jacket are gone! So's the duel disk!

[Whyyyy!]

[A soft sigh. This kid... He has to act his most concerned right now, so he carefully reaches out a hand to check Judai's temperature.]

Think more about the situation you're in, will you? You were asleep out here in the cold for some time and there's no nurse out here. We'll find a way to get the damn jacket back, but you should probably start sleeping in it once you do, if you're going to sleep this soundly in these temperatures.

[Thankfully, there's no fever or anything, though Judai does obediently still when Bakura tries to check.]

Ah... yeah. I'm already starting to get cold!

[He wraps his arms around himself, shivering as Winged Kuriboh moves to settle on his shoulders.]

How long's it been gone?

Probably a couple of hours. No telling how long your friend was trying to wake you... or how long it's been gone. Looks like you're not feverish; you must be surprisingly robust.

If you're too cold, I can set up a fire. On the concrete, there's no risk of it starting a forest fire or anything.

[He's already looking around for a good spot to set one up. If the building comes back, there's a risk of their being crushed, so the closer to 'center' the better. The courtyard's got less in it to hard them if it comes back suddenly.]

[Oh geeze. It feels weird being without his jacket and deck and duel disk. Whenever this stupid thing ends, he's sleeping with them. All of them.]

Need some help grabbing stuff?

Need, no, but if you felt like grabbing whatever dry twigs or branches you can find, that'd be useful. Things like dry heather or moss work too.

That reminds me...

[He looks over at him thoughtfully.]

You know, since you've used the Ring, you can probably access that power on your own now. If you felt like it, you could just try it out while I work. Give it a shot; try to draw things closer to you again.

Really? Don't I need the Ring to fiddle around with that magic, though?

Usually... but there's a chance it's left residuals inside of you. It usually does. Small traces of magic that reside inside former holders.

Just do what you did before and instead of focusing on the ring, focus on yourself.

Alright. I'll give it a shot!

[Focus on himself, huh... Judai stretches some, rubbing his arms again and glancing up to Winged Kuriboh. Well, maybe it'll help him be warm, pulling all the stuff so he doesn't have to move.

Focus on...

Mmm?]

[When Judai's focus turns on himself seriously, the floodgate that Bakura cracked is thrown fully open now, mentally drowning him before he can even take a surprised breath. Physically, Judai's body suddenly hits the deck, shadows around it surging and twisting like an uncontrolled tornado.]

A-ahg...

[The surge of power waking up in every part of his body is overwhelming, like an enhanced version of using your arm after it's been in a cast for years. Painful, strange, but feeling right, in a strange way.

Of course, this is nothing so innocent, and Judai feels something strange in the back of his mind, an unknown presence as silhouettes of Burstinatrix and Avian briefly appear in those shifting shadows.]

[And then it all stills, Winged Kuriboh recoiling in something that's almost fear as Judai lays there, breathing hard and not moving.]

Holy shit.

[That's about all Bakura can manage as he stares at the prone figure there. It takes him a moment to manage to approach him, the Ring sending out warning signals that were summarily ignored.]

Judai?

[He reaches out to try to shake him.]

[The moment Bakura's hand touches Judai's shoulder, his eyes snap open and fix on the other man. But there's something deeply, deeply wrong with them that's immediately apparent.

For one, they're no longer brown. Instead, his right one is orange and his left one is green.

For two, they're glowing. Faintly, but still noticeably.]

I'm fine.

[He pushes himself up, the shadows sticking to his skin like some sort of liquid that only drips off once he fully stands. There's even something wrong in his voice, too... a strange sort of edge that Judai's never had.]

[He takes a step back, staring with wide eyes. He can feel something wrong right now. Those warning signals are going crazy.]

The hell...?

[He sounds too serious to be Judai. And that power... and those eyes.]

Why are your eyes glowing?

[hyperhero]

Heh... are they? I guess it's because of this power of mine.

I had no idea I had something like this! It's an amazing feeling... it's been there all along, but I never noticed it.

[Judai stretches some, flexes his fingers and holding out a hand. As if bidden, the shadows slink up his leg, focusing in that hand in a tangible form.]

It's like I've been under some kind of blanket all my life... and now, it's gone!

[fluffydeathdealer]

[He watches in fascination, not sure what to think of this. No use telling Judai that he'd let it loose just yet. But if he had the brains he was hiding under there, he'd probably figure it out.]

That's incredible... To have something like that your whole life and just not notice it. No wonder you're acting odd.

Heh... it's thanks to you, isn't it? That little "nap" I had...

[He calmly reaches over, flicking the Ring. If the warning signals weren't going off like crazy before, they should be now.]

You were messing around in my head and found something you shouldn't have. Ba~ku~ra.

[fluffydeathdealer]

[He practically jumps backwards at that, eyes widening in shock before narrowing suspiciously. Those warning signals amplify suddenly and violently and he feels the Ring start to move even before the chiming of the dangling prongs signifies it's agitated.]

What? I really don't know what you're talking about, Judai! You passed out because of tiredness, after all. Isn't that so?

[The lightly mocking note to his voice belies his words.]
