[Welcome to Lapin Angelique! Everyone who enters this room will suddenly find themselves wearing a Gothic Lolita Dress. They may also have other gothic accessories such as tiny little hats, frilly parasols, vampire capes, or spooky plushies.

Bizarre things will happen if you try to take off the clothes. Maybe it will just be downright impossible, they're stuck to your body. Maybe you'll start to FEEL GOTH and the BLACKNESS OF YOUR HEART compels you to put the clothes back on. Maybe you start taking off the clothes, only to find that doing so causes you to slowly morph into a bunny until you put them back on (or until you're a bunny. But was that REALLY worth it?) It's all up to fate!

Either way, these dresses are probably staying on, at least until the effect wears off. Which could be anything from a couple hours to the rest of the day.]

[It's tempting to point out just how wrong that is, but hell... he still considers himself separate enough from the soft boy that there's no point.]

I'm using this body too, so it belongs to both of us.

'What's mine is yours' and all of that. He gets enough out of my presence that I should deserve that much.

[Ryou huffs, looking away from the spirit. He won't say what Aniki told him, about being glad when the Ring is gone... He knows better than that. Besides, he doesn't want to anger him.]

[His voice is low and serious.]

I could offer all sorts of 'payment' for my existence here. Money, power, protection... I'd even take those 'awkward situations' you run away from and handle them for you. But you're too ready to throw everything away for foolish ideals.

A child like you can't understand. You don't know what it means to struggle to survive.

No...no, I don't. And I don't claim it's any good, but that still doesn't give you the right to use other people for your own means.

We all have our own lives, and you had yours...so why should you get to take that away from anybody else?

Rights? Don't make me laugh. Rights are lies that people call upon to explain away their own failings. "I can't do it myself, but it's my right." Bullshit like that just makes me sick.

[He lets the ring drop, looking at Ryou with a calm expression on his face... albeit aa dark one.]

It's the purest emptiness in the world. There's no sound, no light. Nothing but my own mind to occupy myself. Time becomes nothing. Even if you cry out, nobody can hear you. Nothing changes. Nothing moves. You begin to wonder if you're really existing.

If it's selfish to take the opportunity to get away from that, then call me selfish.

I'm not doing this to steal anyone's life. If Ryou has something he wants to do, he only has to tell me... and I won't interfere.

It sounded unimaginably awful, so terrifying in thought that Ryou let out a small noise that rose up from within him, like a whimper. He takes a slight step back, his eyes wide. Had this guy really dealt with that loneliness...for that long?!

He felt bad for him... He knows he shouldn't, not after what he did, but he does.]

But, but even if that's true, what about when you do things he doesn't want you to do? Borrowing to escape the Ring for a little while is one thing...

[Folding his arms over his chest, he leans against the wall.]

I got a few of my memories back, a while ago. It's probably the effect of that Millennium Puzzle. I'm not planning to take it from him any more. On top of that, I haven't been 'paying rent' since then, either, so there's not too much that he can protest about.

[Ryou blinked a few times, in utter disbelief. He was shocked, so much so he could barely find the words to speak. It was as if everything he'd thought about the spirit now--as he was now--felt unjustified.

[Ryou remembered something suddenly, backtracking on his previous guilt and looking at the spirit with meek defiance. As if he wasn't quite sure what to feel.]

But he told me that he woke up with a knife wound, in the hospital! And that he's got a lot of gaps in his memory... You can't control him that much, it's not fair!

Didn't he tell you about our agreement? I'm not controlling him that much anymore. The only time I've reneged on that agreement was when he was sick, about a week ago. I was in too bad of a state to remember to wake him up.

As to the hospital thing... that was a pain. Do you know how boring hospitals are? Especially when you only have an annoying old man for company. He should have slept right through it.

...and if he told you about the duel, that wasn't me. An idiot I know forced me out of control.
