[So, those in one of the halls are being treated to a sight. Karasu, in annoyance and frustration, crushed half a wall and ate an intercom.

And it's given her a stomachache. So this particular hallway is now being completely blocked by a dragon who only just barely fits, and even then very precariously, as she's already wrecked one foundation and her mere presence has dented the ceiling and other walls.



Alternatively, a bit later on, Karasu in her human form can be found in the arcade, still with somewhat of a stomachache and sitting at one of the machines in a high-legged chair she stole found somewhere.]

[He gives her a thumbs up, crossing over to check on her again. It doesn't look like the dragon is injured... That's good. Or maybe it isn't. It could easily be internal injuries... or something else. If it ate something poisonous, it could be disastrous. At least he assumes so.]

[What does someone even say to a sick dragon? He can't believe he's even got to wonder that. What even is this day?

Going over, he sits beside her, carefully reaching out a hand to pet along her neck.]

[She snorts in amusement at that. Can't say she ever expected to be congratulated for the whole thing of "breaking down a wall," but there you go.

She shifts a little at the petting, unwrapping her tail some to rest it lightly behind and around Yami, in case he wants to use it to rest and lounge while he keeps her company.

I mean, it'd be rude not to offer SOMETHING.]

[This is super-weird, but sure, he'll lean on it. He might as well relax a little. He casts his mind back for something to say and comes up with the obvious question.]

So were you stuck there for long?

[She shakes her head a little, thinking and giving a slight motion of her wings meant to mimic a shrug. It wasn't very long, couldn't have been, but she was too busy being miserable to really count specifically. Sorry, Yami.

...that petting really is feeling good. It's almost making her feel tired. Or maybe that's just because she's not feeling well?

Either way, it seems she's trying not to nod off.]

[Really? ...Well, she wouldn't entirely argue with that. She gives a soft, pleased growl, letting herself relax and closing her eyes fully.

Sleep would make it better, right...?]

[It's a while after she's fallen asleep, probably just when Yami's got his mind on something else, that the power seems to instinctively flicker and fade.

Which means that the tail is gone, and in place of the dragon is a familiar white-haired girl.]

[Even if the dragon hadn't suddenly disappeared, he might have fallen back a little in shock at the sudden appearance of the girl. As it is, the lack of that comfortable weight behind him pitches him over on top of her.]

It became quite obvious when the dragon vanished... though I can hardly understand how it could be.

[Today got even weirder... he'd never have believed it. He offers her his hand, to help her up if she needs it.]

Sorry, I think I want to just lay here for a while... if I start feeling like I'm about to die, I should probably change back. I don't know if I can actually digest an intercom like this.

[Yes, she said intercom. But she does manage a smile at his hand.]

I thought you said there was food for those who could cook. There's no need to go eating the intercoms.

No, it wasn't that. I just got... angry, because I was asking her about rulebooks for Duel Monsters and she kept talking circles and insulting me about it. I kind of snapped a little, so I broke the wall and ate the intercom.

So this is kind of my own fault.

Rulebooks...? What's the problem? The rules aren't all that difficult to remember.

[He cocks his head a little, curiously. The fact that she got mad enough to eat the intercom... it's kind of amusing in itself.]

The people aren't the only thing that's from different times. The card machine, it gives out cards I've never seen before. Synchro and XYZ... stuff that have to be from further in the future than I'm from.

So I was hoping to find a rulebook to say how they're used... but she insulted me for it and wouldn't give me a straight answer.

Have you tried just putting them on the duel disk and seeing if it can figure them out?

They're... different. They're kind of like fusion in that they need a special kind of summon, but I don't even know how to begin starting with that.

Do you want to try? I have one of each on me, since they were related to my deck.

[Activating the duel disk, he watches as the holographic projectors detach, the disk itself clicking into the ready position.]

[...ug, stomach hurts too much to sit up. She just sort of fishes out her deck and holds it up to him.]

[He takes it from her, fanning it out in his hand to scan through for the relevant cards. There's an odd feeling to these cards... Like they're aware of him. Drawing the first Synchro card he finds there, he sets it in play. Nothing happens, but after skimming through it, he notices the requirements.

It takes a little experimenting to figure out, but eventually-]

[-The monster appears.]

Whoa... it does work. How'd you do that?

[The prospect of DUELING is starting to overpower the pain now as she watches a bit more intently.]

This isn't the first card that the duel disks were able to recognize without their programmer's being aware of them. The chips inside the cards carry enough data that I was able to replicate their summoning method with a little practice.

This requirement... The Tuners and normal monsters. They're sacrifices, but they have to total the same level as the card you're trying to summon. Like a ritual summon, but with specific types of sacrifices required.

I see... that's great.

[That's really supposed to have more energy to it, but yeah, the whole "I ATE WIRES" thing. Still, she's smiling as brightly as she can manage.]

What about the XYZ?
