PERMANENT EVENT: A WHOLE NEW FRONTIER
[Surely it was too early for another announcement, right...? But then there it is, that tell-tale electronic feedback screeching through the halls before a mature female voice resonates through it.]
The doors are unlocked.
[That's all she says. Those who are curious might test the front doors...and they'll find that they open not to the seemingly civilized outskirts of town as the now vanished view from the roof may have made you think, but to the horizon. Likewise that barrier and its lies blocking anybody's escape via the roof or sky has collapsed, leaving the air a tad bit...more temperamental. You see, there was weather now.
Out from the front doors of the Campus can be see an expanse of land and then the sea. Anybody who ventures out further will find that they're still trapped, only in a bigger cage. This new cage is now five miles across the diameter at its longest point. The island itself is about as varied as it comes: covered jungles, a cave system, a single stream leading up to a freshwater lake, and a lone mountain near the center. One part near the front of the school is home to a sometimes-pleasant sandy shore ripe for the hunting sea life. Everywhere else is a perilous cliff fall into the sea.
Anybody who tries to escape via the sea will find the riptide tearing them back to a cave near the shore.]
((This event is a permanent setting expansion, you can read more about it here as well as in the island setting page near the bottom here. Have fun, if you have any questions simply address them to the OOC post, plurk, or AIM if applicable, and please don't forget to tag your series!))

[The teen looks indignantly at the glass Pegasus pours him, tilting it slightly in his hand.] What's that? Come on, give me a whole glass.
And I don't care if you trust him; I don't. I'm sure he wants to get out of here just as much as we do. [He scowls.] Desperation chances people.
[After all, Pegasus; Kaiba had been perfectly willing to leave you behind when he tried to escape. Now he did plan on sending helicopters back, but that was hardly the point.]
no subject
[Pegasus paused quietly at the request, wondering if Kaiba was just incredibly frustrated or was thinking that Pegasus thought him a light-weight. As far as he knew Kaiba wasn't the type to indulge in wine, exactly. But since it was what they had on hand and he probably needed to relax, he didn't protest further. He filled the glass, and gently pushed it within reach.]
Well, the thing is, Kaiba-boy. I have absolute confidence he wouldn't abandon us, for a very specific reason.
[This story he wasn't exactly wishing to tell him so soon but obviously if the Creator of Duel Monsters trusted someone, that meant quite a lot, given he didn't trust a great deal of people in general. Lee was different...]
Lee has done a lot for me, here. He's saved me. Numerous times. I have no doubts that he can be trusted. That and...
[Now he hesitated to say this part, given he wasn't sure how Kaiba was going to take it. Pegasus therefore crossed his legs in his chair and leaned back, one hand moving with a flourish as he would often do during conferences or their face-to-face meetings.]
He has proposed a business merger between his company and mine.
no subject
[...However, hen Pegasus mentions the business merger, Kaiba almost breaks his glass by biting down on the edge, his expression that of abject shock. He pulls his mouth away and bites the corner of his lip instead, leering as he mumbles hoarsely towards the other man.] You...what?
no subject
A-ah....well, you see. He's very interested in Duel Monsters and Industrial Illusions, and honestly I think I'm interested in Violet Systems and what he does as well.
[Pegasus was a little shocked himself when he saw that expression, surprised perhaps that Kaiba would even have such a reaction.]
Is...something wrong? I was going to discuss that with you when I got back...but since you're here now, that makes it easier. That's why I think you two should meet. You'll understand when you do!
no subject
A company merger...! That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Can you imagine how that will look in the papers? It's reputation suicide!
[He takes another sip of his drink, if only to fill the pause between talking.]
I don't want to meet him. I hate him already. [Just the thought made his body tremble. This was nothing but competition.]
no subject
[Given that icy blue stare filled with the the green of jealousy Pegasus hadn't readily expected that kind of reaction. Not at all, actually. Maybe now wasn't the best time to have brought that up.
While he's oddly flattered it's still a bit disconcerting.]
Ah...Well. Please. I know you're upset...I'm sorry I probably shouldn't have talked about it since you didn't get the results you wanted today, and that's frustrating for you. Let's talk about it later.
[He rose from his chair then and settled behind him, placing both hands on his shoulders reassuringly.]
What you probably need is to relax. Just sip at your wine and let me help.
no subject
[At this point, Kaiba was already too far absorbed into his own jealousy and anger to really look at the situation unbiased. It's a good thing that Pegasus apologies and decides to drop it, even if it barely does anything to adjust Kaiba's boiling mood.]
... [When the other man moves behind him, Kaiba turns to look at him, eyes glancing down at the hands now resting on his shoulders. "Relax"? He didn't have time for that. Or for this!]
What are you doing?
no subject
[He said, as if reading the boy's mind. Which he was. He just had gotten so comfortable with Lee that he almost didn't give it a second thought when he started to massage Kaiba's shoulders very gently.]
Oh~ You really are tense, Kaiba-boy. Just relax...I'm going to help you. Have some more of your wine.
[Pegasus said softly into his ear, inviting him to calm himself and then to do as he said.]
no subject
[But even with Pegasus's eye influencing him, it's going to take ahile to calm down all that pent up frustration he's been building the last two days.]
What else would I be in a dump like this. [He reaches out, taking a sip of his wine like Pegasus asks. The slight buzz it gives him helps, if only a little.]
no subject
[Pegasus knew a thing or two about relieving pain, after all. His fingers could be delicate but also firm and precise when they needed to be. Which is what he was doing now, working his thumbs and fingers into the taut, knotted sinew with extra care.]
You feel much too tight, Kaiba-boy. I can't believe you have this much tension in you!
[But then again he very well could.]
It's not my choice either. I wish I could take you to my castle instead, but it is what it is. Now how does this feel?
no subject
Hn.... [He takes a blind sip of his drink, feeling all that anger being slowly massaged away. Now that his mind grew clearer, he could think a bit better too.]
Not bad. [Kaiba would find a way to talk Pegasus out of his merging. All he needed to do was find some dirt on Lee, or something to make him unappealing. He had known Pegasus far longer, after all. Surely he could think of something to sway him back to his side...
A merger, after all, could jeopardize his collaborative relationship with Industrial Illusions.]
no subject
Good...I want you to feel better. I really want everything to stay the same you know. Our collaborations are already so smooth I wouldn't change them now.
[He added, quietly, his voice soft and silken at his ear. He was hoping it would make Kaiba feel reassured that what he'd spoken of before wouldn't change the basis of their relationship, business-wise or otherwise. Especially not after what happened at Duelist Kingdom. He just thought Lee had much to offer. And Kaiba may eventually see it the same way. So he hoped.
For now, his thoughts of petty reputation ruining weren't exactly a good thing but he's hoping at least to be a good enough distraction that none of that would come to mind for a while.] Mmm, could you hand me my glass?
[He asked, sweetly, still rubbing down to between Kaiba's shoulderblades and then working meticulously back up to his neck, and then slowly drawing lazy circles with his fingertips over his scalp.]
no subject
Then why merge? It's pointless.
[It did reassure him a bit, but Kaiba was still feeling frustrated enough to mule over the matter, even with the influence of Pegasus's eye and those hands on his shoulders.]
... [He reaches forward briefly to grab the glass, holding it out for Pegasus to grab. Meanwhile, as those hands work up his shoulders and neck, Kaiba can't help but let out a heavy sigh.]
no subject
[Pegasus purred when the glass was handed over and he stopped only momentarily to delicately take a sip, then setting it back down near Kaiba's own. He didn't see how addressing the issue at that moment would help matters between them right now.]
Ah, thank you. It feels nice, doesn't it?
[He went back to diligently working over those shoulders again, his lips ghosting warm breath near his ear again. He's just trying to be thorough about the way he's massaging, so that Kaiba's pain and tension would fall away.]
no subject
Actually, I think I do. [Making products for Industrial Illusions was one of KaibaCorp's staples now. If Lee so much as touched his territory...]
[Ah, but despite his harsh-as-usual tone and words, that massage really was getting to him. He could practically feel the tension melting off him.]
Hnm... [That was a yes.]
no subject
[Pegasus said in a soft singsong voice, and let his hands move back up to massage at his head again, making sure to pay careful attention to the crown and sifting his fingers through his hair. It was softer than he'd have originally thought, and there wasn't a doubt that Kaiba wasn't enjoying himself.
He seemed to be a bit blissful, which was very good.]
There now. No use resisting.~ It'll feel better that way.
no subject
The massage to his scalp was a bit strange, but he couldn't help but embrace it as he allows his eyes to fall shut again.
All of a sudden, the weight from his exploration today pressed down on him, making him realize not only how physically tired he was, but mentally too.]
no subject
He'd never normally have done this either but something told him it was needed. Call it intuition, perhaps. Imagine his surprise when Kaiba didn't reject the massage at all, and rather took to it.
Pegasus moved to rub at Kaiba's temples now, knowing that that was where the other CEO held a lot of his tension.]
I know...you've just had a very long day today. For now, relaxing is the best course of action. That means you'll have more energy tomorrow to address everything. Taking time to rest a little is a good thing, you know. I promise I'll be of more help as well. It's a burden you don't have to share alone, Kaiba-boy.
no subject
[Tomorrow...he was going to head out again, with or without Pegasus. His top priority right now was getting out of here. Even Pegasus's merging plans took second place to that.]
I can't relax. [With his arms folded, his fingers dig into the fabric under their fingertips.] I won't relax until I have the proprietor of this event groveling at my feet.
no subject
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, shall we? I have confidence in you Kaiba-boy. We'll have them before long.~ Mm...well, maybe if you like we can have a duel before you go to bed. Or, tomorrow, perhaps.
[That would take his mind off things, right?]
no subject
We made a deal, Pegasus. Remember? [He opens his eyes again, determination sparking in those blue irises.] You're going to duel me when we get out of here. To do so now would be admitting defeat.
no subject
[What was the harm in having a slightly different before that? A smirk began to curve his mouth as he spoke, indicating that there was more to it than he was actually letting on.]
We could play chess. And for...say, oh maybe some exclusive cards I haven't told you about yet.
no subject
Well, that's different. [He sets his glass down.] Do you even have a chess board?
no subject
[Pegasus danced away from the chair Kaiba was sitting in long enough to go into one of the rooms and pull out a distinct-looking chessboard, making a space on the table so that he could have it between them. Dinner time was clearly over, for now.
He opened the box and began to set up the pieces before long, some of which might be quite distinctly familiar if he cared to look.]
no subject
[When he first sees the Duel Monsters theme board, he finds it rather clever...until he notices that those aren't just any Duel Monsters. They're...]
Cartoons? Ugh.
