Tch... I can cook it a bit more, but we have to be careful, or the smoke from the fire will give us away!
Ughh...can't you find some fruit? Just look up.
Do you want to die? If someone finds you while I'm out looking for fruit, you'll have worse problems than having to eat meat.
But Bakura... [Malik sounds a bit like he might be ill.] My stomach...
O-oy! Hold on a little longer, okay? I'll see if I can find something close by. I'll stay within earshot, so if someone approaches, scream.
Just get a couple...I don't need that much.
Be quiet, you idiot. You need to eat something. [He chomps down on the meat Malik refused to eat.]
Well? I can't eat anything if you don't go get something!

[His temper sinks back down just as swiftly as he rose, and he lies back again.]

...That's fine. The same applies to me, Bakura. We are equals, but that doesn't mean we can't assert dominance, either, from time to time. [Malik more often than not.]

[His shoulders shake with silent laughter before he rolls over onto all fours and climbs to his feet. Crossing over to where Malik sat, he met his eyes before reaching out his hand to cup his cheek almost uncaringly. Tilting his head slightly, he observed him with a thoughtful gaze for a moment.]

You do look better than her.

[Though not than him.]

[Malik tenses, but because of their conversation earlier, he makes no move to pull away.]

...Of course I do. [He says it as if it were an obvious fact.]

[Crouching down in front of him, he observed him almost clinically. The lack of retreat was interesting. He wondered how far he could push it.

Oh well.

Leaning forward, he pressed his lips briefly against Malik's]

She still tastes better. Must be the meat.

[Malik's breath hitches, and he twitches slightly, as if having meant to pull away but suddenly stopped himself. He'd never been kissed before, so this was...certainly one way to have it happen. Not that he ever really cared or thought about that sort of thing, but still...]

[That comment has him scowling, but it's hard to look intimidating when his cheeks have darkened to burgundy.]

..I'm not eating meat, you bastard. And when did you kiss her?!

[Bakura just laughs in turn, amused by Malik's reaction. How precious. Just as he'd suspected, the teenager was entirely unable to react to it properly.]

I didn't. I just wondered how you'd react if I implied it. Though she does taste rather good. Her blood is very unique.

Heheheheh. But... Why would you be worried about having to eat meat, Malik? Are you expecting more of that?

[He really is a bastard.]

Tch, no. I just thought you were trying to force it on me again. [That was the truth, at least. Although not the whole truth...he had thought Bakura was implying it for other reasons. That didn't mean he wanted any part in those reasons...just that they were reasons!]

Do you always try to lap up people's blood? [It's a dull afterthought.]

'Always'? Heheh. Counting my own, there's not really all that many. I have a fondness for it, but you may have noticed the opportunity is lacking.

Although sometimes I do it just to see the look of distress on their pale faces. Humans react to blood in a unique way. Fear. Disgust. Anger. They forget how easily it can be spilled. How easily they can die. The entire human body's just as much of a shell as my host. People just tend to forget that.

[Bakura you're weird, but whatever. He kind of likes you.

Malik smirks at that, folding his arms over his chest. While there's a brief twinge of fear inside himself--mostly aimed at his own situation--Malik is quick to repress it.]

Well...I always considered the body to be more of a puppet than a shell. A puppet for me to manipulate, and use. Hmhmhm... It's amazing what you can get people to do, Bakura, when you get inside their head and convince them that you're "God", or use their fears against them...

[In other words...he thinks he gets where you're coming from!]

[Shifting to sit beside Malik, he loosely leans his arms on his knees. Part of him wonders how Malik even would react if they won. Without the Rod... Heh, would he even give it up? His lips twist into a smirk. Such a messed up kid... it's no wonder he likes Malik. Even if he annoys him a lot. He understands that part of it. That love of breaking the minds of those that bother him.]

People's minds are always their greatest weakness, aren't they? I'm sure that no matter how far humans evolve, that will never change.

Keh...that's right. Even the Ancient Egyptians knew it when they created the Millennium Items...many of those take advantage of that weakness.

[Malik did like the power, that much was certain...but after he had his revenge and gathered the God cards, he wouldn't need it any longer.]

[His low laugh trails away slowly. Ignoring the comment about the items, he tilted his head back to look at the sky.]

You don't need to go that far to control a person. Sometimes you just need a little push, right?

Right...keh. All it took for Harriet was a "little push", after all.

[He tilts his head up, looking at the treetops. How long were they going to have to stay out here? Without his Rod, it took a lot more to "push" somebody into submission.

Even with Bakura as conversation, and summoning as practice...things were dull. All he could do was sit around and wait.

He was used to dull for a long time, but once he got a taste of the outside world...he couldn't go back to it.]

[Malik wasn't the only one feeling a little strange about this. Bakura was used to waiting. Always, ever waiting for that one opportunity, for that one move that will unlock the next step. It's like a long-lasting game. A game of eternity, where it's easy to forget your last move because the time between them can be unnervingly long. But that didn't mean he wasn't bored by it.

In a way, it was like the desert, this place. There may be water and trees, but that didn't change that comparison. In much the same way, this is a place where only the wildlife moves, and usually out of sight. Very little happens, save sudden events that rise up out of nowhere. Nothing changes.]

Keh-! [His fist strikes the ground suddenly, frustratedly, his move coming right out of nowhere.]

[Malik jolts at the sudden movement, looking over at his partner, his hair sticking slightly out of place.]

Ah... [But no, he understands. He understands perfectly.]

You feel it too Bakura, don't you? This never ending boredom! Sitting here and hiding...I can't stand it.

That's right... I'm going to go mad if something interesting doesn't happen soon!

[His arm shakes slightly, fist still pressed against the cold floor.]

But without the Rod...and in this condition. [He runs a hand through his hair, Bakura's frustration fueling his own.]

I think we'll be suffering a while longer.

You could always make use of the Eye.

[He's joking! ...mostly. It's a little bit of a cruel joke, but really, he's nothing if not cruel.]

Tch--! [Malik lifts a hand to cover his eye, defensive.]

Don't even joke! If anything, you're already halfway there!

What? Are you afraid?

[Wait, did he just-]

[He's just going to ignore that question and continue taunting Bakura instead.]

Oh yeah? It still looks all squinted to me. Maybe we should just cut our losses, huh?

[He reaches back, pulling out his scalpel again, bouncing it between his thumb and forefinger.] I can always help~

Hoh? Isn't that your collateral, Malik-kun?

[He can't tell if he's serious or not, though he doubts it. So he teases back, watching the scalpel suspiciously anyway.]

You want to give it back to me that badly?

... [Malik puts the scalpel away again, although he keeps his smirk, as if toying with Bakura.

As opposed to remembering it was his collateral.]

On second thought...I still need it.
