[Malik had found something while looking through the East Wing. Just what that "something" was becomes apparent when an engine roars to life, and the skid of tires on tiled flooring echoes through the halls.

Sure...sure, he could just walk his new bike outside...but where was the fun in that?! This wasn't an ATV, and it likely wasn't going to fair well in the spotty terrain outdoors...

So he's just going to take a few smooth-riding laps in the halls before he goes to test it outside.

When somebody gets in his way, he rears the bike back onto one wheel, skidding a few feet on the floor before the front tire slams back down and he comes to a stop.]

What, are you trying to get yourself killed?

[The bluntness of that first comment irks him a bit, but Malik doesn't do much more than shoot Bakura a warning look over it.]

That's why I need to kill the Pharaoh--so I can free my family from that miserable life of darkness. [He rolls over onto his stomach, folding his arms in front of him and resting his head against them.] Nobody should have to live like that...to have to pledge their life to some Pharaoh they don't know!

Heh... I see. No wonder your 'killing instinct' is so high towards him.

[And with that, he disappears downwards... only to return a moment or so later with a bag of cream puffs.]

My host hid these under the bed. Here. We shouldn't talk about this shit on an empty stomach.

[Maybe the food will make Malik feel better?]

...That's right. [Malik stays where he is, waiting for Bakura's inevitable reappearance. ...And there it is--and there was cream puffs.

The Egyptian sits up, taking the bag of cream puffs in his hands.]

So that's where he put them... Too bad I'm not hungry. [Thinking about the Pharaoh put him in a foul mood.]

[...

He just reaches over to check Malik's temperature.]

...? [Blink blink.]

[fluffydeathdealer]

Save them for later, then. I thought they might cheer you up, that's all. Think there's room for us both up there? This is uncomfortable.

[obeytherod]

[Cheer him up...? Idiot. As if it was that easy.]

I'll hide them from Ryou. [...Actually, that thought alone started to put him in a better mood. Malik will just slip that bag of cream puffs to the corner of his bed for now.]

Yeah, fine. [It's a little begrudging, but Malik does scoot over to the other side of the bed, inviting Bakura up with that spare room.]

[Climbing up, he stretches out beside Malik with an amused look. Truthfully, he had thought Malik that simple as to be cheered up by sugar.]

When it's all over, how do you want to live?

[obeytherod]

I told you, already. [Still sitting up, he looks down at the other man, his expression a bit distant.]

I want to live with my family, out of the darkness.

[fluffydeathdealer]

That's not what I mean.

[Keeping his eyes on Malik, he relaxes there.]

You should have hopeful dreams of what you want to do with them once you have that freedom. Would you want to live in Egypt still?

...Of course. Egypt is still my home, and I'm sure my brother and sister would want to stay there. [Even if Ishizu wasn't happy with him now--and he wasn't much happier with her--had had to come around eventually. Maybe after the Pharaoh died, she'd finally see what good he was really doing.] I wouldn't know where else to go, anyway.

[He starts to settle back, eventually laying down to rest on his side.]

Then, why not look into what Egypt has to offer? Take your sister and brother somewhere bright and beautiful, and show them what happiness you've earned for them.

[Maybe Malik's suspiciously tall and line-faced servant-slash-possible-brother will even smile.

But that won't happen. Bakura knows Malik won't ever succeed.]

...Hm. [He smiles a bit at that, although his eyes don't meet Bakura's.] It might take awhile to convince my entire clan to go, but I don't want to leave anybody behind. We've all suffered because of the Pharaoh.

[fluffydeathdealer]

Maybe you should start a biker gang with them.

[His tone is relentlessly amused.]

[obeytherod]

[That pulls Malik out of his surprisingly virtuous thoughts. His eyes snap back to Bakura's now, notably unamused.] ...

Jeez, you're in a dark mood. Shall I leave you to your thoughts?

[obeytherod]

Hhf. [Malik adjusts his head against the pillow, shutting his eyes.] No, you're just a fool. I thought you should know that.

[fluffydeathdealer]

I was joking. It's what I do. You should know that by now. Being serious too often isn't my style.

[obeytherod]

I know that. But I'm not the same as you.

[If he wasn't enjoying being a manipulative or sadistic bastard, Malik was fairly serious. Or at least he would consider himself as much.]

[fluffydeathdealer]

[Yeah sure, Malik. Whatever you say. He just nestles into the bed, thoughtfully.]

Fine. I'll try to be serious, just for you. Even if I do like the way you look when you're annoyed.

[obeytherod]

[Sure, Malik knew what Bakura meant, but where was the fun in that?]

Mmm? The only times I've been annoyed at you, I hurt you.

[He scoots closer, leaning in with a devilish smirk.] Kehkeh...is that what you like?

[fluffydeathdealer]

...o-oy! I didn't say anything like that!

[Inching towards the edge of the bed a little now. He doesn't approve of that smirk.]

[obeytherod]

Oh? But you just said "I like the way you look when you're annoyed"!

[Malik scoots closer still, cornering Bakura against the railing of the bunk bed.]

[fluffydeathdealer]

I didn't mean it like that! Just because your face twists so prettily, that doesn't mean I want something like that!

[obeytherod]

[Malik lets out a little laugh, draping his upper body over Bakura possessively.]

...Too bad. I kind of looked forward to the idea.
