CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK

[Hopefully everybody likes waking up outside.

Because as it were, in the middle of the night when everybody had been asleep or lulled into a sudden one by the sheer weight of the air around them...the Campus disappeared in its entirety. Left behind was only the cool surface of the concrete foundation.

For now it seems the residents were left to fend for themselves in the wilderness of the island. Not even the voice from over the intercom would comfort them.]

((ooc: the school has disappeared, along with all the NPCs and everything that was inside! no opt-out areas this time around. The temperature is cool during the day, and colder at night.

The event will last until October 20th, and I'll post a closer to signify it. Everything will be returned to its rightful place then.))

[He leans against the rock with a sigh.]

At least it waited until now. [...wait.] Ah, sorry. That sounds kind of selfish, but really I'm just grateful it waited until I didn't need the nurse any longer.

But it really is a pain... And right after we made the effort of moving rooms, too. Keh...

There was no real "good" time for it to do this that wasn't late spring, so I don't think it's selfish to be thankful for that. I'm just thankful it was now too instead of in the middle of winter or something. If it did that, I don't know what I would've done. I don't think even my dragon half could stand something that cold without a cave or something...

And I'm pretty sure there's not enough food around here to let me stay in that form for long periods of time, considering how much I eat just after I turn back.

Yeah, it's cold enough as it is. But after the blackout hit that cold spell, I think most people can probably handle winter if they're careful. People survived it living in caves and the like in history, after all.

But I don't know what we're going to do now. I don't even have my jacket, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Heh, perhaps I should try to build a little house in the forest like in a storybook.

If you can build a house, I call the attic. I don't care if you have to just make a hole in the roof or something.

[Sigh. She stretches out some.]

I was thinking of trying to find a cave to stay in, myself. It's not the best but at least it'd be better than trying to sleep in a tree or something. And who knows, maybe I can actually catch a bear or something and figure out how you make a blanket out of fur.

That's easy enough to do. If you don't want it for mounting, you just need to skin it, tan it and stretch it... then take something sharp, like an awl, and use it to make holes so you can fasten it to another one if you think it won't be big enough on its own or you had to scrap some parts of it.

But I don't think I can build a house. I've got a knife, but not anything big enough to cut down a tree.

And as much as I'd like to offer the help, like I told Kai-kun, I don't think turning into a dragon if I don't have to right now is the best idea. People might think I destroyed the building or something.

[She sighs, rubbing her arms and pulling her legs up. Dammit, it's cold, but she doesn't feel like walking right now.]

You and Malik need somewhere to sleep, right? Let's find a cave for you two, then I can go find another one on my own. I'll catch some animals or something later on once everyone's settled down somewhere for you two and me.

No, that's fine. We need to find somewhere we can't easily be found and the caves are too obvious. We've got a stalker to deal with.

[Pulling himself up onto the rock beside her, he presses closer, offering his warmth in exchange for hers.]

Sorry. I know it's uncomfortable, but do you mind if I sit with you like this for a moment?

Ah... wish I could help with that.

[She blinks a little as he gets close, moving to press against him without hesitation. That was one nice thing about having time to think she guesses... it doesn't feel weird to do this. After all, they're both cold and they're friends.]

If Malik comes by, then I was keeping you warm for him and that's the story I'm sticking to.

[He laughs at that, relishing in her body heat. Despite his tolerance, he's in a bad state like this. And with Malik acting so weird, he hasn't exactly had much opportunity to warm up.]

I'll back you up on that one.

[A slight pause. She seemed so thrown off last time. Should he apologize, or just let it lie?]

You spotted me pretty easily out there. Am I that obvious?

[...he'll let it lie for now.]

You're not quite my level of HEY LOOK AT ME I'M GLOWING IN THE NIGHT, but I could see you once I actually looked. I heard you moving around.

I'm kind of surprised you didn't see me first, honestly.

Heh... I was focusing on not being too visible, so I didn't notice you until you spoke. What a newbie mistake.

[It really is amateurish. Looks like he's losing his touch... how annoying.]

Well, I guess it wasn't like I was sitting up right in view or anything either.

[Mmm. Bakura = warm. Though after a moment, something moving catches her eye and she blinks a little bit, shifting just enough to stare at Ryou.

So... is that really there or am I seeing things?

[-! Shit-! He looks over as Ryou squeaks in fear and dives behind a tree. It takes him a second to respond, running through options in his mind.]

Ah... no, he's there. He must be slipping... usually he doesn't let people see him.

Is he... some kind of ghost?

He's the 'me that isn't me'. Basically, what I could have been if I grew up in his world.

That 'Ryou Bakura' didn't make it, but wasn't able to pass on due to regrets. So when he came here, I let him stick around and take over my body sometimes.

[moderndaydragon]

I see... that's nice of you. I can't imagine what it'd feel like having your body taken over like that.

[She smiles over at the tree, waving in a friendly way.]

Sighing, he peeks out from behind the tree, offering a friendly - if awkward - wave in response.

He's 'me', after all... I know I'd want the same if I was in his shoes.

It's not so bad. It's like going to sleep, only your body keeps going while you're asleep.

Wouldn't that be scary, though? Waking up some time later with no idea what you've been doing? Even if it is "you."

[She smiles a bit brighter, waving for him to come over.]

Un, it's nice to meet you, Karasu-chan! I'm Ryou Bakura. The other me goes by Bakura-kun, right? I used to as well, but I prefer Ryou now.

That's right, he does. He's a very good friend of mine! He took care of me for a long time, you know?

Ehhh, really? [Wow, the other him really does have it in him to be nice, huh? Weird... this is like the second person he's met who's gotten along with him.]

I didn't know that! He never tells me a thing about what happens when I'm not with him, you know?
