MINGLE: LASER TAG ARENA

[Being from Ancient Egypt and all that, seeing the dark, neon-lite laser tag room is enough to make him stumble back in awe. On the wall are vests with a sensor above the heart, as well as a set of guns.

Just beside that is a set of rules that Bakura sure as hell can't read:

EACH PLAYER TAKES ONE VEST AND ITS CORRESPONDING GUN.
DO NOT COVER UP THE SENSOR ON THE VEST.
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME IS TO HIT THE TARGET ON OTHER PLAYERS' VESTS.
WHEN YOU ARE HIT, YOUR GUN WILL TURN OFF.
THE LAST PLAYER STANDING WINS!

Needless to say, he just takes a gun and decides to explore the room.]

((ooc: decided to intro one of the new rooms that I added last week (I'll also add these specifics to the setting page). Anyway, play laser tag with each other, tag around, and have fun! Feel free to handwave your character re-entering the game if you want to keep playing after they've already lost once.

Also, feel free to be a big fat cheater and not play by the rules, if that's how your character rolls! That's the fun of RP, isn't it?))

[Fine! But it isn't too long before she's bringing over a couple of plates, one for him and one for her.]

Here you go. Lunch, like promised.

[Bakura hops up to a seated position, taking his plate and wordlessly digging in. He's as messy as ever, taking in large mouthfuls and licking the blood and juice off his fingers.]

[And that doesn't surprise her at all. But that's why she's sitting away from him to eat her own share.

Sigh. She's going to have to clean everything up again, isn't she.]

[And after a minute, he's done and leaning back to suck on his fingers.]

[She's making an effort to be nice, really. God knows why, but she is.]

[Well, he's going to take a nap on her couch now. Bakura slides back until he's laying on his back and drapes one leg over the armrest and the other off the side of the couch.]

...What are you doing?

[You're not staying in her room.]

Sleeping it off! What else?

[He totally is.]

The deal was only for a meal, not a room, too. You've got your own dorm, don't you?

Come on, I'm comfortable, don't make me move! Besides, maybe I'll tell you something after I wake up!

[So fuck off and let him sleep.]

All right, fine.

[She sincerely doubts he will, but it's easier than just arguing with him. So she'll just be fucking off to her room to read for a while, thank you and goodbye.]

[Well with that settled, Bakura's going to do just what he said: sleep.

It's not a long nap, and in about an hour he's awake and waltzing over to her door. He leans back against the wall and uses the back of his hand to knock on the wood.]

You're not changing in there, are you? H-heh heh.

No, I'm not. You can come in.

[True to her word, she's still just sitting there on her bed, reading her book.]

Sleep well?

[Pushing the door open, Bakura waltzes in and takes a lazy look around the room. H-heh...she kept everything in here, just the way it came.

He couldn't see the appeal of these sort of beds.]

For the most part! It was kind of cold out there. Remind me to steal a blanket next time.

[She prefers them because she has sanity and likes sleeping like normal.]

Assuming you make a habit of sleeping in my dorm.

[You just can't see the benefits of a nest until you've slept in one.]

H-ha hah... [Bakura climbs over to take a seat on her bed.]

I'll sleep wherever I feel like it.

So I'm aware.

[She flicks her eyes up to him when he comes over, then just turns her attention back to the book. She's being more matter-of-fact and less snarky, at present, though that's more because her focus is mostly on the story.]

[Bakura leans over, leering at her book from over her shoulder.]

Tch...

What is it?

[This is kind of uncomfortable, but she just turns to look at him rather than shifting away this time.]

It's annoying!!

[It was easy to dismiss reading when it was only the Pharaoh and his men, and he could easily get by without, but when everybody here could do it?! He felt ill-prepared! It wasn't like him.

He was supposed to be one step ahead of all these fools, at all times.]

[Wait. She knows. She glances down at the book, back at him... and then bites her lip a little. Don't offer it. Don't offer it, you know you'll regret it...]

...Do you want me to teach you how to read?

[Dammit. She's really too nice for her own good, but seeing that expression and just thinking about the idea of lacking something as basic as reading... well, even she can't be that mean.]

[Bakura reaches towards a specific ring on his finger--the one he was told that held a piece of his Akh's soul--and uses it to contact him with a simple request.

Akh! Teach me how to read. I won't be shown up by everyone here any longer!]

[...ah. He just lost the high score on his game. Damn soul fragment... Closing his eyes, he forced it to speak inside of the Thief King's head.]
