ISLAND WIDE EVENT: LIGHTS OUT
[In the later afternoon, with the sun already setting in the sky, there's the sound of something deep within the building powering down. One after another the lights pop off like a domino effect down the hall, with each room following in suite as the electrical outage worked its way through the building.
It only took a matter of seconds for the Campus to be enveloped in complete, inky darkness. Even with the proper time to adjust one's vision, it was still neigh-impossible to see. There was nothing but cold, lonely blindness.
Outside, the sun set...and it didn't rise again the next morning. The only saving grace was the starry night sky and the waning moon too keep the denizens from being completely consumed by darkness.]
((The darkness has come...RUN! Everything's the same, but now both the INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the island/campus are dark. It's much easier to see outside though, thanks to the stars and moon in the sky. Characters are free to improvise light sources, but nothing electrical that needs to plug in will be functioning. If something runs on batteries, it'll last until those die.
This event will stretch until the end of Sept. 18th, feel free to tag in to this post, or to make your own threads! Have fun!))

no subject
[He speaks soothingly, wondering how the hell he's going to explain it. 'The other you defended your honor by making Kaiba go crazy' probably wouldn't work.]
no subject
...Bakura-kun... please... don't go anywhere... okay?
no subject
[It's a simple answer, and one he punctuates by drawing the chair up beside the bed and sitting on it.]
I'll be right here, so don't worry. If you need anything at all, just let me know.
no subject
...Thank you...
no subject
Now, now... what's wrong, Yugi-kun?
no subject
But he just feels so tired... and even as he pushes the tissues away, he's sinking into the bed and that inviting void calling him quietly.]
I don't want to disappear...
no subject
Why would Yugi be afraid of disappearing? Could it be that he too feared that terrifying blackness that overwhelmed Ryou when the other him took over? He reaches out to grasp Yugi's shoulder.]
Then don't disappear. Stay here...
no subject
[So sleepy... and so quickly slipping away.]
Bakura-kun...
[...and gone. It's a fitful sleep... but it seems the sickness and the stress mixed with that Shadow Game have just wiped out what little resistance he has.]
no subject
[The words fall on deaf ears as Yugi falls asleep. Ryou's hand grasps Yugi's firmly. It's a useless gesture, but perhaps Yugi can feel it while he sleeps. He wants him to be happy. Seeing him like this is painful.
He stays there, one hand holding onto Yugi's, his other hand supporting his head.]
no subject
His sights turned to Ryou.]
Bakura. [His voice was harsh.] Yugi's inability to respect the stakes of a game--it's pathetic, isn't it?
no subject
[The hallucination Ryou glares at him. It's a surprisingly cold look for him - as if Kaiba isn't even worth wasting his breath.]
Just disappear! Yugi and I don't want a worthless loser like you hanging around.
[He turns his back dismissively.
In reality, Ryou had tried to stammer out a haphazarded protest at the words, not wanting to insult either Yugi or Kaiba, before just surrendering to the realization that Kaiba wasn't even listening.
...what did Kaiba even do to Yugi?]
no subject
[He didn't respect or care for Ryou's opinion, but the fact his words backed up Yugi's own...it stung. It was a burning pain and fury. He was supposed to talk this way to them, not the other way around! What was with this sudden change in attitude?!
He actually enjoyed the new-found tenacity of Ryou's, but not right now.
Why wouldn't Yugi just honor the stakes of their duel?! This was worse than the humiliation of defeat...it was his defeat meaning nothing to either of them! He was just being...dismissed, a nobody, a loser!]
Tch, whatever! Keep your damn Penalty Game!
[In a last ditch effort to save face, Kaiba backs away and then suddenly turns, storming out the exit. The Blue-Eyes figure remains on the table next to his seat.]
no subject
[Kaiba's rage and consequential storm-out was weird enough, but he'd been so possessive over the Blue-Eyes that this was the final clue that Kaiba had completely snapped.
What did Yugi do to Kaiba's mind?
Was this really how the other Yugi handled breakups or... well... Whatever it was Kaiba had done to Yugi in his absence?
...ugh, he was too tired to think of this. Just... Gonna lay his head down beside Yugi and go to sleep.]
no subject
So he'd decided to take it on himself. Which is why he was currently sitting up, carefully and slowly removing the bandages to see the extent of damages and just how much he'd have to do.]
no subject
Ryou stirs at the feeling of the cold air, whimpering a little. By now the painkillers have more than worn off.]
no subject
He knows it's going to hurt, but he tries to be as careful as he can in applying the antibiotic cream. Hopefully, it won't interrupt Ryou's sleep too much.]
no subject
Yugi...-kun?
[No, this is...?]
no subject
[Definitely not the smaller Yugi, even if his hands are about as gentle as that Yugi's at the moment.]
no subject
[It's such a gentle touch... he wouldn't have expected it from someone who had been so frightening to Kaiba before. But it's like the Yugi he knows... the other Yugi must be terrifying to people who do bad things... but he wasn't a bad person either.
That's a nice thought... so Yugi-kun really is going to be alright.]
no subject
It's only dangerous to those who want to hurt you.]
...You're injured in other places too, Bakura. Can you let me at them?
no subject
Or the fact that that man is actually a bit fascinating.]
no subject
He doesn't seem to be that concerned with time, seeing as slow as he's going to try to make this a bit easier on Ryou himself. Really, Yugi is sleeping dreamlessly in the darkness in his own soul right now; it's a bit of helping them both, and he's all right with that.
These burns, though...]
How did you get these?
no subject
My roommate... he apparently went crazy at some point while the other me was in control. He summoned a monster into the real world and tried to kill him with it.
It was apparently Ra, one of the three God Cards. I don't know how we survived... I just woke up here a few days ago, dealing with the consequences. Everything I know is just what people have told me.
no subject
[For some reason, that name sounds familiar, but he shrugs it off. He's never heard it before now, so it must just be something he's seen in passing.]
They're healing, anyway. And if the Spirit is that much trouble... maybe I should talk to him again sometime.
[Pointed leer at the Ring now.]
no subject
I'm the one who bore these wounds so he didn't have to; why the hell would you punish me for it?
