CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK

[Hopefully everybody likes waking up outside.

Because as it were, in the middle of the night when everybody had been asleep or lulled into a sudden one by the sheer weight of the air around them...the Campus disappeared in its entirety. Left behind was only the cool surface of the concrete foundation.

For now it seems the residents were left to fend for themselves in the wilderness of the island. Not even the voice from over the intercom would comfort them.]

((ooc: the school has disappeared, along with all the NPCs and everything that was inside! no opt-out areas this time around. The temperature is cool during the day, and colder at night.

The event will last until October 20th, and I'll post a closer to signify it. Everything will be returned to its rightful place then.))

Well say something like that, then! How much do you need? If it's cutting a hunk out, you can just find something else for it.

Just enough to make sure it's thick enough to not snap when I try to use it--come on, you've got plenty of hair! Hand it over! [Demanding as he is, the Thief King sounds more amused than harsh.]

[Geeze, really?! Sighing, she runs her hands through her hair, pulling a handful more strands, at least enough that the color can be properly seen if they're all held together.]

Bakura takes the hair and ties it to either end of his bow. Then, after cutting a notch in his "board" he places his other stick against it and loops the "string" of his bow over it.

From there it's just a matter of holding the stick in place with a rock as he rocks the bow rapidly back and forth to create enough heat to start a fire. It's a little slow going, but soon enough Bakura's got exactly what he was looking for: a fire.]

Hahaha! It's as easy as that, see?

[Well... Huh. Karasu tilts her head a little, blinking.]

Yeah, I see. That's actually pretty cool.

[It means she doesn't have to start carrying a lighter everywhere, if nothing else. Whenever the school comes back, she's going to see about looking up survival books. The less she actually has to ask him, the better.

She blows on her hands a little, holding them over the fire to try to warm up some. At least the transformation had been short enough that she doesn't feel like eating the whole bear raw, even if she was warmer that way.]

[The Thief King tosses aside his fire-making tools and heads for the bear now. Sitting by its side he pulls out his dagger so he can start sawing off hunks of meat, placing the pieces on top of the bear itself as he goes.

Once he has enough pieces he pushes himself to his feet and heads for the edge of the forest. Surveying the trees, he finds one with a branch that's just thick enough to hold the meat, but still thin enough to break from the tree when he applies his weight to it.

When Bakura comes back, he carves the edge of that branch to a point and uses it to skewer a few pieces of meat for him to prop up over the fire with the help of some stones.]

[Since he seems to have it under control, Karasu leaves the rest of it to Bakura, just trying to warm back up by the fire. At least she can be thankful her clothing doesn't rip when she transforms. What she's got on now may not be the best protection ever, but it's better than being naked.

As it is, once he comes over with the meat she stands up, rubbing her arms some.]

Well, looks like you've got everything under control here.

[He simply shoots her a bored, if slightly irritated look at the meaningless comment. He was hungry, and after those "lessons", building the fire, skinning and cutting up the bear...he just wanted his damn food to cook.]

[moderndaydragon]

[Geeze, fine. She didn't want to say goodbye or anything anyway.

Don't mind her, then, Bakura. She'll just be walking off now.]

Don't forget. [He calls out to her when her back is turned.]

That's two favours. [With nothing more to say to her, Bakura pulls back his skewer once the meat is browned on the outer edges and digs in.]

Yeah, yeah, I'll remember!

[Cripes. The sooner she's back with Kai, the better. Have fun with whatever, Thiefy!]

Next Day

[Well, a night with decent food, talking with Kai, and warm furs was enough for Karasu to actually feel a little better, even despite the situation. As it is, she'd left Kai to go see about finding some more animals once it'd actually become day, then set out herself to see about finding the thief.

A quick check at the former campsite confirmed he wasn't there, which left just wandering around the forest idly trying to find him. Even if it's somewhat heavy, she's got one of the pelts wrapped around her, even the morning too cold to just wander in PJs. Ug, she'd have to use the stream to wash these things later on...]

Wonder if he grabbed a cave on the cliff or something...

Re: Next Day

[Actually, the Thief King was just lounging high up in one of the trees. He wasn't exactly fond of staying in trees, so he'd only come out here to survey the area before heading further out. When he saw that familiar head of white hair he couldn't help but grin, knowing the girl had come back.

Her fate had been sealed the moment she swore over the onion, but he wouldn't object to her making things easier for him.

Leaning over the branch, he speaks in a breathy voice, just loud enough for her to hear.]

Karaaaassuuu~

[moderndaydragon]

[What the hell? Don't tell her there were ghosts or something!

...No, it's just him. Hanging from the tree.]

How's the weather up there?

[stealshinies]

Not as cold as it is down there, h-hah hah!

[The Thief King sits down on the branch now, swinging his legs like an amused teenager; the later of which he certainly isn't.]

So you came looking for me, did you?

[moderndaydragon]

I wanted to make sure you didn't freeze during the night or anything.

[stealshinies]

Do I look that stupid to you? If anybody was going to freeze, it'd be you. [Point!

And then his dramatics slip back into the causal with some more leg swinging.] Heh...so, did you want me to teach you again?

[moderndaydragon]

Hey, do I look like I'm going to freeze? I'm the one with the campfire, the food, and the pelts beyond just one bear, you know.

[Teach, huh...]

If you can actually teach me something about my other half, yeah. Though I just came to make sure you didn't die.

Save your misplaced concern, it makes me sick!

[Bakura hops down from the tree, chuckling after he lands on his feet. The most he'd done with that bear pelt was wrap it around his waist and let it hang over his legs. Other than that, he'd only bothered to tug his robe closed.]

You're here because we made a deal. That's all. Then if you want to learn, follow me~

[He turns on heel and heads into the forest.]

[You remind her of Malik, and that's not a good thing. She rolls her eyes, shooting him a glare and not even bothering to hide it. What an asshole... why is she doing this again?

Oh right, because this asshole has the answers she wants.

Sighing, she follows him.]

Fine, then. Excuse me for being a person.

[stealshinies]

I won't! H-heh hehe...because you'll never learn to control that other side of yourself if you keep submitting to the human in you!

[He licks his lips, continuing to walk with a slightly hunched posture, ducking under the occasional branch.]

I don't believe that. If that's the case, then I'd gladly just lock it away forever. Being a dragon isn't worth giving up being human, even if I haven't had much luck as one.

[She's suddenly tempted to just turn around and walk away, damn this deal and everything.]

So if that's the only way to do it... then I guess the deal's done here.

[stealshinies]

H-hahaha... GYAHAHAHA! [He throws his head back, shoulders shaking with laughter. Bakura turns back towards her suddenly, grinning without mercy as he leers into her blue eyes.]

You already swore over it--it's too late! You can't back out now. If you were having doubts, you shouldn't have committed to it! Come on, it won't be so bad... h-hehe. You can keep some of your humanity, if you want. It has its uses...

[For now. Bakura saw little worth in keeping it long term, though. After all, he was more than willing to lose his for revenge and power.]

[moderndaydragon]

Who says I can't? I still have to honor the favors I owe you, maybe, but that doesn't mean I have to learn anything more from you -- or keep that side of me around!

[That laughter is grating and she almost wants to punch him, especially with that grin. Something about the leer makes the pit of her stomach twist, however, and she swallows dryly, trying not to let the weird sense of intimidation she feels show.]

I'll keep it all, thanks. Unless you can give me a reason why being a dragon is better than being human.

Because you swore over an onion, that's a binding oath! [Not that he wouldn't go back on something he swore if he needed to.] And you misunderstand. You can keep your human form. You can change your form, after all. This isn't a matter of form, but of soul.

That monster is your Ka, after all! You can't learn anything if you don't embrace it. You're holding yourself back. Your potential is hampered by the unwillingness of your Ba to act!

[A beat.] ...There, I taught you something else. Three favours!
