CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: THE LANGUAGE BARRIER REINSTATED

[Today, something somewhere went wrong. On the evening on the 15th, any bilingual (or otherwise) knowledge granted by the Campus has simply...disappeared. At least for anybody walking by the North Wing.]

[Translation: Well...this is going to put a damper on our studies, now isn't it?]

((ooc: So! For the next 5 days (the 15th~20th), your character officially only knows their native tongue. Aka, whatever language they primarily grew up with. They can no longer read, speak, or understand any other language but.

For fun you can even use Google Translate to show what your character is speaking at a glance! Don't worry, we all know it's probably gibberish :P

If you go the Google route, please be sure to put a translation at the bottom. If not, then please take care to specify what language your character is speaking in at the start of every thread.

[Bright, huh... He does look pretty bad off. Violet reaches over, patting his arm comfortingly.]

[Thankfully, it only takes him a minute or two to figure out how to work the blinds on the windows, and that with some gesturing is enough to get the idea of making it dark across to Lisa. He watches carefully as she flips the switch, glancing up in surprise as that somehow drowns out the light.

...interesting.

He goes back over to the bed, kneeling down once more.]

Is that dark enough?

[...what was with that? The light that had been driving him mad was suddenly gone. He waits a moment before nodding and pushing past Vio on his hands and knees. Once he's out, only then does he stand up. Ugh... That could have been bad. What was with this place, where light could appear and disappear so easily?!]

Yep. That's much better.

[And what's with that woman? She doesn't seem to speak a word of their language... This is all really weird.]

What did you do?

[In answer, he points to the switch on the wall.]

It's some sort of magic in this place. If that thing is moved, then the light floods in or out, depending on if it's already there or not. You should keep it in mind for the rest of this place; I've seen those around in a lot of the rooms.

A magic darkening thing, huh...

[He wonders if he pries it off with his sword and takes it outside, can he turn off the sun? He's gonna try anyway...]

[And he's going to get swatted in the back of his head for his trouble.]

Don't break it. We don't know how it works yet.

But what if I can turn off the sun with it?! Ya'll can't expect me to just leave something like that stuck in a wall!

[Violet smiles a little, nodding at that.]

If there's anything that needs to be done during the day, I can handle it, so you don't have to worry. At worst, I'll find some way to keep the light off you.

[Heh... that was right. Despite everything that had happened, they were still... them. He actually belonged somewhere. He couldn't lose sight of that.]

[But Violet falls back to serious, his face betraying worry. The last they saw, Shadow was fading away... and there was the other pressing problem.

Doesn't look like anything's damaged. I feel pretty good, apart from the drain from the light. It's like nothin' even happened.

[So it's like he's just been reset, almost, to before he was ever killed... that's relieves him a little, but only opens far more questions. And the mere fact he was here had already made a list of those.]

What's the last thing you remember?

[Don't make him say it, Vio. As little as he minded disappearing as a part of them, it's weird.]

[Thankfully, that's all he needs.]

The last I remember is returning the Four Sword with Green, Red, and Blue.

[Their memories sync up. Or at the very least, sync up enough that he's willing to go on a little bit of faith. But that doesn't answer anything.]

So as it is, we both should have been back to "Link." But we're not -- instead, we're here.

[Why? He stares at one of the windows just past Shadow, thinking.]

[Then why are they like this again? Not that he's complaining; it's good to see Vio again. But weren't the four of them supposed to return to normal? Wasn't he meant to return to being 'just a shadow'? A shadow that'd saved everything, but still...

Noticing the look on Vio's face, he claps him on the shoulder suddenly.]

What's it matter?! We're here! If it's any evil plan, I'm sure you and I can handle it! With the two of us, we can do anything! We could take over this place if we wanted!

[...though he doubts Vio's up for that, it's still a point.]

[Whoa hey. Vio turns his attention to Shadow, quirking an eyebrow at that last part, but smiling a little none the less.]

Let's settle for just figuring out about it for now. At the least, we don't seem to have to worry about the mirror... or Gufuu or Ganon.

Ya, that's right. Those two are probably long gone by now! And with the Dark Mirror smashed, there's no way that can be part of what brought us here.

[He smiles back, agreeably. It's pretty funny to think things would turn out like this...]

I'd know if I came here through the mirror anyway.

So it's some other artifact or spell. The fact that I haven't seen Blue, Green, or Red is worrying... if that sort of spell fractured Link but just brought us, then it could be trouble.

[Still, the smile that flashes shows that he's happy to see Shadow again, despite what the logic of his statement might say. After getting used to the other three... he doesn't relish the idea of fighting alone again.

And that smile from Shadow himself is good to see.]

It's bright out in the rest of the building... would a cloak work well enough? Or should I find something else?

[A cloak... that's so undignified! Ugh... And it'd have to be thick.]

Gimme a minute.

[Opening the door to the hallway, ignoring the woman still hovering nearby, he growls in irritation at the brightness of the corridor. The door almost immediately clicks shut again.]

We can try the cloak.

[Undignified, maybe, but Vio's more worried about keeping him healthy than worrying about his dignity.

A minute or two of trying to communicate with Lisa later is enough for him to give up, especially since she clearly has no idea what he's trying to ask her for. So instead, he grabs one of the blankets and throws it over Shadow.]

[The look he shoots at him is a quite blatant silent 'seriously?'. But he doesn't really have much of a choice. Wrapping himself up in it, so that he can barely see out of it, he hesitantly steps out into the hallway again.]

[For now, he waves goodbye to Lisa, who just seems way too happy to have them out of her office. Glancing around, Violet mentally goes through the map he knows in his head for a moment or two.]

I passed by what seemed to be a lot of small rooms a while ago. One of them might have something. Let's go see.
