CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: THE LANGUAGE BARRIER REINSTATED
[Today, something somewhere went wrong. On the evening on the 15th, any bilingual (or otherwise) knowledge granted by the Campus has simply...disappeared. At least for anybody walking by the North Wing.]
Tja ... det här kommer att lägga sordin på våra studier, är nu inte det?
[Translation: Well...this is going to put a damper on our studies, now isn't it?]
((ooc: So! For the next 5 days (the 15th~20th), your character officially only knows their native tongue. Aka, whatever language they primarily grew up with. They can no longer read, speak, or understand any other language but.
For fun you can even use Google Translate to show what your character is speaking at a glance! Don't worry, we all know it's probably gibberish :P
If you go the Google route, please be sure to put a translation at the bottom. If not, then please take care to specify what language your character is speaking in at the start of every thread.
If you have any questions, just head to the mod plurk or send this account a PM, but most importantly--have fun!))

Hoh... you're going to make someone a good wife someday.

It's a good thing she can't understand that, otherwise she might've smacked him for it.The smile brightens up as she laughs a little, just popping a piece of her lunch in her mouth and giving Bakura a thumbs-up. Cake and meat would make this all better!
...well, maybe not all, but enough.]
no subject
Well... he can take advantage of this lack of understanding, actually. As long as he keeps smiling and speaking in a friendly manner, he can say whatever he wants... But that reminds him. Lifting a hand as he chomps down on the meat, he cocks his finger at her and traces a heart in the air questioningly.
Did you get that thing he sent you?]
no subject
She nods a bit, smiling and pointing at the bedroom door. She's got it sitting in her nightstand, in fact! Though she does give a bit of an apologetic look as well.
She never was that good at valentines.]
no subject
Don't look so downcast! I'm hardly going to beat you up for it, whatever you're sad about.

Anata no barentain no hi wo eru koto nitsuite warui kanji te masu. Subete no desu.
(I just feel bad about not getting you something. That's all.)
[She polishes off the rest of her plate, leaning back on the couch and stretching some with a bit of a sigh. It's a little irritating, all of this, but at the least it's letting her get used to how Egyptian should sound.
She thinks.]

...
It's no good.]
Damn...
[That would have been an easy way to read those hieroglyphs on Malik's back...]

no subject
(Ah, you can't write?)
[Ug... that must be worse to not be able to at least write. That probably meant he couldn't read it if he saw it either, if this place is being that finicky about their language.]
no subject
I'm going to kill her...
no subject
Ngg... if only there was a way for her to help...]

Ryou-kun... wo rikai suru koto ha deki mase ka?
(You can't understand Ryou-kun?)
no subject
Ah, actually.
Grabbing one of his cards, he taps the Japanese symbols... and then the chibi Ryou.]
no subject
Ryou-kun ha amarini mo, migi nihongo wo hanasu ka? Odoroku beki koto ha ari mase n.
(Ryou-kun speaks Japanese too, right? That's not surprising.)
no subject
no subject
(I could talk to Ryou-kun if you wanted me to ask anything?)

She draws herself and a chibi Ryou close together, then draws a single speech bubble and connects it to both of them.]
1/2
[That's true, but he can't monitor Ryou's words if they can't understand one another. Tch... Well, if he fucks things up for him, he'll have to patch them up. It'd be suspicious if he said no. If Karasu wants to talk to Ryou, then he'll do it.]

[Yes, it's an obvious and dumb statement, but she's just so happy to finally understand someone.]
