MINGLE: LASER TAG ARENA
[Being from Ancient Egypt and all that, seeing the dark, neon-lite laser tag room is enough to make him stumble back in awe. On the wall are vests with a sensor above the heart, as well as a set of guns.
Just beside that is a set of rules that Bakura sure as hell can't read:
EACH PLAYER TAKES ONE VEST AND ITS CORRESPONDING GUN.
DO NOT COVER UP THE SENSOR ON THE VEST.
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME IS TO HIT THE TARGET ON OTHER PLAYERS' VESTS.
WHEN YOU ARE HIT, YOUR GUN WILL TURN OFF.
THE LAST PLAYER STANDING WINS!
Needless to say, he just takes a gun and decides to explore the room.]
((ooc: decided to intro one of the new rooms that I added last week (I'll also add these specifics to the setting page). Anyway, play laser tag with each other, tag around, and have fun! Feel free to handwave your character re-entering the game if you want to keep playing after they've already lost once.
Also, feel free to be a big fat cheater and not play by the rules, if that's how your character rolls! That's the fun of RP, isn't it?))

[But before she can respond to that he's jumping down from the wall and landing skillfully on his feet.]
Go easy on me? Hah! H-hahahahaa! The only easy part of playing with you is how easy it'll be to defeat you!
no subject
[She's replying to it anyway, then crossing her arms and grinning.]
Well, get a vest and let's find out.
no subject
But it's no fun to play a game without any stakes, now is it?
no subject
[It's called "fun," geeze. What's wrong with you?]
...But I'm in a good mood anyway. What "stakes" were you thinking of?
no subject
Bakura answers without hesitation, as if he'd already thought this through beforehand.]
How about the loser cooks the other a meal?
[Everything is food or revenge to this one, seriously.]
no subject
no subject
[But he clearly doesn't.] And that depends. What do you want?
no subject
...But the truth is, she's almost... missed him somehow. She can't even fathom why she did, whether it's guilt or just insanity...
But there is one thing she wants, now that she thinks about it.]
Truth.
[She has no idea if he'll go for it, or if he'll even keep his word. But she'll try anyway.]
I want to know about you. Your past. What it was that made you so determined and angry... and what it was that caused you to be afraid that one day.
no subject
What should she possibly care to understand?! Why would he make himself vulnerable by telling her what made him afraid?
...And yet, part of him was intrigued to answer. If she wanted to know so badly, he'll tell her! She'll wish she never asked.]
Is that what you really want? What a waste of a wager--as you wish! I'll even start by telling you one thing: I was never afraid!
no subject
[Yeah, she doesn't believe that for a second, and it shows quite clearly on her face. She won't push it, however, and simply points towards the door.]
I'll show you how to put the vest on, then I'll let you come back here first. The game starts twenty seconds after you step through the door back inside again, and it ends when one of us hits the other's sensor for the first time.
Sound fair enough?
no subject
Sure, sure...that sounds fair! [Not that he plays fair.]
But you should know better, Karasu. I'm not from your time. I have no idea how long "twenty seconds" is.
no subject
Didn't you have counting back whenever you're from?
[Probably not, but that does make things a bit more complicated. Think...]
Fine. How about I count it out?
no subject
[Count it out, so he can use your voice to find your position faster.
It sounds good to him.]
no subject
All right. Come on. Let's get a vest for you.
no subject
[He casually follows her, using the trigger guard to spin the gun around his finger.]
no subject
Okay. Start walking and I'll count.
no subject
[He jokes and turns to start walking. Usually he wouldn't turn his back to an opponent, but the sensor was on the front of his chest.
Besides, he could hear her... If she moved, he'd know it, at least until he gets deeper into the maze of walls and neon. Then it's a matter of her voice.]
no subject
[She sticks her tongue out at him, then waits until he starts going before counting.]
One, two, three...
[Okay... he disappeared that way, so the best way to go would be... over there, maybe?]
...nineteen, twenty!
[And that's where she's going, as quickly, but as quietly, as she can. She had to yell that last number, sure, but that doesn't mean she's going to stick around where she yelled it.
Unfortunately, she's no thief. She does know how to move quietly, but it's far away from actual silently. Especially weighed down as she is.]
no subject
Once Karasu starts moving, he rounds a corner and begins to silently follow. Even with all his rings, jewelry, and robes, he's quiet as a cat. It helps that he shoved any loose gold into the waistband of his shendyt, but even then it was a feat.
He stays far enough away and staggers his progression just so that should she turn around, he can always duck out of sight.]
no subject
She does occasionally glance behind her, getting the sense of being followed specifically from that direction, but she's never quite quick enough to catch sight of him. Is he really that way...?
...Well, she can think of one way to try to figure it out. She has no idea if it'll work or not, but even as creepy as this is feeling, it is just a game. She runs her hand along one of the walls, trying to focus any sense of hers to pick up something from behind her as she mentally counts what of the barriers she can see.
There. She slips between a couple of them, then moves to nearly press against the wall she's following, turning around to see if she can catch him as he comes out. If he is following, and if she can get lucky...]
no subject
Karasu is no where in sight, so Bakura can only guess that she rounded a corner while he was hidden. Stepping out entirely, he reaches up and means to climb on top of the wall itself. It's high with no footholds, but he has enough upper body strength to pull himself up.]
no subject
Karasu steps forward, unknowingly giving away her own position from the noise of doing so as she yanks her gun up and fires.]
no subject
[Bakura has a split second to react. He knows one thing: if the sensor on his chest is hit, it's game over, but instead of letting go of the wall and dropping down, he covers his sensor--negating the shot--and then pulls himself over the wall and lands on the other side.
The sound of receding, hurried footsteps and laughter can be heard until he manages to silence even that.]
no subject
[But Karasu knew he was going to do that anyway. She quickly goes after the sound while he's still making it, stopping only once the sound does and pressing herself into the wall again. Getting a dark hoodie for this really was the best idea she had.
But now she had to find him again. Where did you go, Thief King~?]
no subject
Going off of that assumption, Bakura takes the long way around to get to the area he'd noisily run through. He won't risk running out again. Instead he crouches down and draws his gun as well as a loose bracelet.
Carefully, he rolls it out into the center area.]
