CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: THE LANGUAGE BARRIER REINSTATED

[Today, something somewhere went wrong. On the evening on the 15th, any bilingual (or otherwise) knowledge granted by the Campus has simply...disappeared. At least for anybody walking by the North Wing.]

((ooc: So! For the next 5 days (the 15th~20th), your character officially only knows their native tongue. Aka, whatever language they primarily grew up with. They can no longer read, speak, or understand any other language but.

For fun you can even use Google Translate to show what your character is speaking at a glance! Don't worry, we all know it's probably gibberish :P

If you go the Google route, please be sure to put a translation at the bottom. If not, then please take care to specify what language your character is speaking in at the start of every thread.

Tenar points to the Ring, points to his hand, then slams his foot down onto the railing hard enough to significantly dent it.

[Throwing his head back, he bursts into peals of laughter.]

[...Okay, deranged laughter is not really something he's used to hearing from people unless they were about to try to blast him. As such, it immediately causes Tenar to bristle and he hops up, staring at Bakura a little bit uneasily.]

Um... you're not crazy, right?

[When his laughter dies, he just grins at Tenar, amused. There's no hostility in his posture. In fact, quite the opposite. He seems entirely relaxed. Taking the Ring off, keeping his hand on it to maintain the connection, he sets it on the railing and gestures from Tenar to the Ring.

Just don't hit his hand.]

[He... wait, he wants him to break it? Or try to?

Tenar looks blankly from Bakura, to the Ring, then back to Bakura.]

I'm a whole lot stronger than you think... are you sure about that?

[He points at the dent.]

[Bakura's grin only widens and he nods. Go for it, kid... Absolutely nothing in this world can destroy the Ring. He's certain of that.]

[Tenar goes over, making note of where Bakura's hand is so he can avoid actually hurting it. Taking a breath, he slams his foot down onto the Ring, far from as hard as he can but harder than he did to dent the metal earlier.

He really doesn't believe this thing can stand up to it, and he doesn't really want to break this guy's stuff...]

[Even with that caution, it hurts him quite a bit, holding onto the Ring when it's being hit that hard. The jolt goes right up his arm and he grits his teeth against it with a growl of irritation.

The railing below it breaks easily from the force passing through it... But the Ring itself is not even scratched.]

Heheh... see?

What the hell. What the genuine hell.

Tenar gapes at it, blinking dully. Oh there's no way... is that thing invulnerable?

But all he's ever seen like that are the Dragon Balls... he's gotta test this now. He has to.]

Put that thing down and back up!

[Brb, he's starting to gather ki in his hands.]

Huh-? [Bakura just stares at him blankly. What is the kid even doing? Is that some kind of energy?

...he's planning to use that on the Ring?! Ugh, but letting go means he'll lose control... unless he relies on the soul fragment he placed inside of Ryou. If Ryou's sleeping deeply enough... maybe it'll be enough. But he does want to see. It'll be something interesting.

Reluctantly, he lets go, stepping away from it. Almost instantly, his control lapses to the bare minimum and he has to fight to stay in control of the body. Leaving the Ring on the rooftop, he steps away from it to slump against the nearest wall.

It hurts... If Ryou was fighting him, he'd never be able to hold control like this. Stay asleep, he willed the boy.]

[Tenar seems to think better of his attack, or at the very least, the angle of it. Grabbing the Ring, he tosses it up in the sky, setting his feet and pulling his hands back behind him.]

Kamehame...

[Just wait for it to fall into position... right... THERE!]

[He pours a significant amount of his energy into the blast, firing it directly at the Ring and hitting it dead-on.

It's one of his strongest techniques, especially with his natural talent in ki. He doesn't have to use all his energy, because if this isn't enough to break that thing...

He's pretty sure nothing will be.]

[What the hell even was that kind of attack? It's like the Burst Stream of Destruction. A massive force. He watches as the attack hits, shielding his eyes from the blinding light of it. He can tell before it fades that the Ring is intact. If it wasn't, he'd be in a whole lot of trouble right now.

Honestly... he had to test things out in the worst way, didn't he? But this was definitely interesting. This kid could be useful...]

[Even intact, the force of the blast sends it flying, meaning that all Tenar can see is the glint before it's gone.

...Did that thing really... survive that...]

[And he's off like a rocket, flying to where he thinks he saw it fall. Haha, there's no way...

...but no. There it is, sitting right where it fell on a rock like it was waiting for him to find it. What the hell kind of artifact is this?

He shakes his head after a moment, grabbing the Ring and flying back to the roof where Bakura is.]

Here... I guess you were right.

[He takes it back with no small amount of relief.

...aw damn. His shiny chain is gone. It's not surprising, since it's not part of the Ring itself, but dammit. He stole that from the thief king... And now he's going to have to keep it in his hands until he can find something else. Not that it'll take long, but...]

Heh. See why I laughed now?

That thing's tough... what is it?

[He doesn't expect an answer, but he does notice how Bakura's just holding it. ...oh yeah, that thing had a chain, didn't it.

Want me to go find another chain?

...? [He cocks his head to the side questioningly. Is the guy asking what's wrong? Carelessly, he taps the loop at the top where the chain had been threaded through.]

[He points at it, then at himself.]

Do you want me to find another one?

[Not really getting it, but the guy sounds apologetic, so he nods.]

[And he's off again, though this time it's less flying and more going through the door on the roof. Either way, it's only a few minutes before he comes back with a thin rope, offering it to Bakura.]

[...oh you are a gem, kid. It's not as good as the gold, but it's better than nothing. Grinning, he takes it and nods, threading it through the loop and fastening it back around his neck.]

[At least, he thinks that's what he said.]

[Ah, that's much better. Getting up off the ground, he rubs his arm, which is still aching from holding the Ring before.]

That's much better!

[His voice is surprisingly cheerful. Seeing that... it's definitely interesting. So much interesting stuff here! He hopes this one sticks around.]

[He notices Bakura rubbing his arm, frowning a little. He didn't actually hit it, did he?]

Can I see?

[He points at it, giving a bit of a concerned look.]

...? It's fine. It's just whiplash. I don't think anything broke.

[Shrugging off his long coat, not caring about the scarring that covers his arms, he shows him.]

See? It's nothing.

[Tenar doesn't seem at all put off by the scarring -- giving it just a brief glance -- before checking the arm himself. A little bit of gentle moving and poking later, he's pretty sure Bakura's right. This doesn't seem to be really hurt at all, so that's good!]

Sorry if I hurt it.

[He still feels a little bad, though.]
