CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK

[Hopefully everybody likes waking up outside.

Because as it were, in the middle of the night when everybody had been asleep or lulled into a sudden one by the sheer weight of the air around them...the Campus disappeared in its entirety. Left behind was only the cool surface of the concrete foundation.

For now it seems the residents were left to fend for themselves in the wilderness of the island. Not even the voice from over the intercom would comfort them.]

((ooc: the school has disappeared, along with all the NPCs and everything that was inside! no opt-out areas this time around. The temperature is cool during the day, and colder at night.

The event will last until October 20th, and I'll post a closer to signify it. Everything will be returned to its rightful place then.))

I hate her! [Compared to how soft spoken he's been, those words came out with surprising force.]

She kept trying to get between me and Bakura...and then she has the audacity to try and be my "friend" afterward! Even after I tried to get rid of her.

[...that sounds just ambiguously threatening enough to be unclear. But the rage in Malik's voice is both surprising and confusing... and a tiny bit pitiful too.]

Now, now... Are you sure she was really trying that?

Of course I'm sure! She kept hanging around him...and she kissed him!

[He was getting so worked up so quickly, that that coupled with his fever was making him a bit dizzy. His voice lowers to a whisper because of it.]

And that asshole still hangs around with her...

If it helps, I don't think he likes it much. If she wasn't what she is, he'd probably be a lot colder to her.

[He rests his cool hand on Malik's forehead, worriedly.]

[That cool hand feels nice on his forehead, Malik making no effort to move away from it. He was still burning up, much like the jealousy in his voice.]

She's no use to us anyway, so why bother? And why kiss her?

[So hot... maybe he can take him down to the lake or the streams once he feels able to and he can cool off there...]

You don't know what use she is to him. Most people are tools to him, even if they don't have immediate uses.

As to the kiss... [Sigh. Another person's messed with his body without his knowing...] ...did you ever think he might be manipulating her?

Yes I do! He told me her uses, and since we already proved flying off the island is impossible, she doesn't have any.

[Malik lets out a low growl of frustration.] I know he's manipulating her. I don't see how that changes anything! He's mine. ...But I guess that was awhile ago...he shouldn't do it again.

Eheh... But that doesn't mean she doesn't have uses to him. He might just not be telling you. Maybe he thinks they're obvious.

For instance!

If you get a dragon on your side, it means the enemy can't use it against you. Which means you've got added protection and less threat.

...Well, yeah. [That was obvious! He just...hadn't really thought of it before. He'd been too blinded by his own jealousy and anger to do so.]

But she doesn't seem the type to just attack because you tell her to. Whatever, it doesn't matter right now! My head hurts...

[He frowns worriedly.]

Have you been drinking enough? I was just thinking that you might feel better if we take you down to the river for a little while.

I don't know, I slept so much I lost track of time...the last time I remember drinking anything was when we settled down here.

Eh?! That was ages ago! You really need to come drink something, right away!

Ugh...but I don't want to move. The stream is too far away...

But we don't have anything to carry the water in... And you're going to get worse the less water you have.

... [Malik knew the importance of water, even if his body seemed to reject the idea. That's the only reason he draws his arms back and moves to slowly sit himself up, his body protesting at the movement alone.]

Nnhgh... I know I'm thirsty and hungry, but I don't feel like drinking or eating anything. How annoying...

[He's just going to sit here, slumped over as he tries to mentally and physically prepare himself to stand.]

[A soft sigh heralds his moving as he goes to Malik's side.]

Here... you can lean on me.

[Having Bakura carry him around when he was physically incapable was different than this. This just made him feel pathetic and needy.]

No, I'm fine. [He pulls on his makeshift shoes and gets to his feet, taking the blanket with him. It's heavy though, and he passes it off to Ryou for now.]

[But he was pathetic and needy.]

...eh? Alright... [He folds it up as best he can for easier carrying.]

But you know, you don't weigh all that much. It'd probably be pretty easy for me to support you if you need it.

I don't need it! [He snaps under his breath and heads stiffly for the exit. He knew where the stream was in relation to their hide-out, so he'd assert his dominance where he had the chance.

Ryou couldn't be thinking him weak.

...He's totally ignoring the fact he essentially asked to cuddle with his boyfriend earlier.]

I'm sick, not injured.

[He follows Malik quietly, trying not to look at him. If he does he'll start going red again.]

But both are kind of debilitating... I haven't gotten sick in a few years, but I remember feeling pretty terrible.

This is nothing compared to what I've suffered here before.

[On that ominous note, Malik pauses a moment to weave carefully between some of their perimeter traps before continuing.]

[Ryou would have answered, but instead-]

[-he accidentally got his foot caught in a snare. Dangling upside down from a tree, he closes his eyes dizzily. Goddammit.]

[Malik jumps back in surprise, swinging around to look at Ryou and making himself dizzy in the process.

He brings a hand up to his head, swaying a little and his voice weak.]

...You fool, shouldn't you know where these are?!

H-how would I do that?! I wasn't watching while he set them up...

[Ugh, it's next to impossible to reach up and cut himself free.]

Uhm. Help?

Why wouldn't you watch him set up traps?!

[He's angry enough and sick enough right now to just reach over and backhand Ryou for that stupidity. It was sharp and quick, but far from his full force--if only due to sickness.]
