CAMPUS WIDE EVENT: EVERYTHING AND THE KITCHEN SINK

[Hopefully everybody likes waking up outside.

Because as it were, in the middle of the night when everybody had been asleep or lulled into a sudden one by the sheer weight of the air around them...the Campus disappeared in its entirety. Left behind was only the cool surface of the concrete foundation.

For now it seems the residents were left to fend for themselves in the wilderness of the island. Not even the voice from over the intercom would comfort them.]

((ooc: the school has disappeared, along with all the NPCs and everything that was inside! no opt-out areas this time around. The temperature is cool during the day, and colder at night.

The event will last until October 20th, and I'll post a closer to signify it. Everything will be returned to its rightful place then.))

[Not one of those people had acted like an adult. Kai was too immature, Malik was an arrogant brat, and Karasu... god, what did he expect from a teenage girl, anyway?

He wasn't looking forward to having to deal with the aftermath either. Part of him just wanted to go sleep somewhere else, make Malik worry, but that was a petty idea at best - and one that would surely send him completely over the edge.

It was a relief to see that Malik was asleep, but not so much to see him in that state. He rushes to his side, kneeling beside him and covering him quickly with the warm - if fairly slipshod - fur blanket he'd made.]

Idiot! Are you trying to get sick?

[obeytherod]

[That warm blanket was an almost instant comfort, the denseness of it quick to stop the chill that was arresting him. He was still mostly asleep when Bakura chastised him, his only response being that of gratefully curling his hands into the fur and drawing it close.]

[fluffydeathdealer]

...

[His lips twitched into a smile despite himself. Ignoring the cold, he lies down beside Malik on the ground, watching him sleep.]

You're lucky you're cute, Malik Ishtar...

[obeytherod]

[Sniff. He sounds a bit runny...]

[fluffydeathdealer]

[His eyes narrow at that and he leans over, grasping Malik's shoulder through the blankets to shake it firmly.]

Oy, Malik-sama! Wake up, will you?

[obeytherod]

Nn... [Malik groans, shoving that hand off him as he comes to.]

What is-- ...Eh? Where did this come from?

[He sits up, sniffling again as he looks down at the fur blanket. Apparently noticing his own condition, he brings a hand up rub at his nose.]

[fluffydeathdealer]

I made it for you, idiot! But were you really sitting here in the cold all this time?

[He reaches out to check Malik's temperature worriedly.]

For me...? [He seems surprised, blinking down at the blanket again. It was certainly appreciated, and luckily Malik had slept off most of his sour mood.] Thank you.

And what did you expect me to do? I tried making a fire, but the damn thing wouldn't start.

[His head doesn't feel unusually hot or anything so far.] It's your own fault for chasing me out! I wasn't trying to start anything.

I didn't chase you out. You were welcome to stay, if you could stop antagonizing people for half an hour.

[TEENAGERS WHYYY.

Ugh, he's glad he never had kids. They'd go out of the window first time they started fighting.]

Tch... just stay warm, alright? I'll get the fire started.

[obeytherod]

I wasn't antagonizing anybody! I just told Karasu to stop acting. It was annoying.

[Malik has no qualms about staying warm, though. He pulls the blanket further up his body and holds it there, enjoying the comfort it brought.]

Idiot! You were rude as hell to her. She wasn't acting. She doesn't like you but she didn't want you to be unhappy or starve, even so.

[He sets to work trying to start the fire up again.]

If she wasn't, then she must change her mind pretty quickly, because that attitude of her's dropped the moment I said it. [His own tone is cold, the impact lessened somewhat by his occasional sniffling.] Helping somebody who tried to kill you...what the hell is wrong with her?

[fluffydeathdealer]

She decided to ignore you because she didn't have it in her to be unkind, and you'd already said you didn't want her kindness.

[His voice is sharp as he doesn't even look back.]

She was at fault as well. But that doesn't excuse you acting like a child. Honestly...

[He rubs his forehead, feeling the start of a headache.]

If you're going to upset her, at least do it in a way that's entertaining. I expected far more creativity from you!

I didn't act like a child! You're exaggerating.

[That last statement had him mentally backpedaling a bit, realizing that maybe Bakura wasn't being as stupidly righteous about this as he'd originally though.]

You were the one who told me to "behave", remember? I wasn't trying to upset her at all.

[fluffydeathdealer]

Tch... I should hope not. I expect less sloppy work from you if you're going to piss people off. Even a girl like that has weak spots, you know! You could have said one of a number of things to make her mad, rather than snapping like that.

[He turns to flash Malik an amused smirk. Really, as if he'd mind too much about Malik acting like a brat... towards other people, anyway.]

If that was you pretending to behave, I'd hate to see you trying to be rude. I swear the air was full of icicles!

[obeytherod]

[His eyes narrow to accompany the smirk he's wearing. It's been awhile since his more sadistic side gave a show.]

Of course I know, you don't have to lecture me, Bakura. I'm the wielder of the Millennium Rod... I know all about preying on the weak spots of others.

And I'll admit I wasn't trying very hard.

[fluffydeathdealer]

H-heh heh... [The fire sparks up suddenly and he reflexively jerks back, before starting to feed it up into a bigger fire.]

Gotcha-! Here, Malik-sama. You could stay warm as much as possible to prevent your cold getting worse.

[obeytherod]

[Malik pulls his knees up, propping his chin up on them as he took in the warmth of the nearby fire. He sniffles again despite it.]

It's just a runny nose. I'm sure it'll be gone in the morning. [Malik obviously knew nothing about how colds worked.]

[fluffydeathdealer]

...

Tell me if you still feel like that in the morning.

[He shoots him a dry look.]

For now, just try to rest.

Okay, okay~ Keh... [Malik closes his eyes, sitting there for awhile before he eventually returns to laying on his side.

He sleeps the rest of the night and into the late morning. Malik's usually awake fairly earlier, so it's unusual to see him still hiding under the covers at this time.]

[Bakura sleeps close to him, pressed up against Malik's back and relishing his warmth. After the events of the day, he's tired enough that the day is half-gone when he awakens... and Malik is still in his arms. He rubs his eyes sleepily as he sits up, reaching out to shake him a little.]

Oy, Malik... Are you really still sleeping?

[obeytherod]

Hnn... [Malik groans, shifting to pull the blanket further up his shoulders as he ignores Bakura's wake-up call.]

[fluffydeathdealer]

...Malik-sama! Come on... It's late.

[He shakes him again, leaning over him.]

[obeytherod]

[That wakes him, as unpleasant as it is. Malik sounds groggy and extremely nasally when he speaks. He tiredly pushes that hand off him as an afterthought.]

Shut up...my head hurts.

[fluffydeathdealer]

...

[Snrk.]

So much for 'gone in the morning'...
